Great episode tonight. A real labour of love, to take near on 100 days to complete. Those guys are a dedicated bunch. Chip's reaction really summed it up.

Watching American Hot Rod tells you why he left Boyd!!
If I had the money I'd pay almost anything to have Chip Foose come out here to do a car for me...lol
That truck was nuts......and he definately deserves it.
It almost made me tear up watching him tear up........almost....hehe

Ah, although you can see the paint is smart, it's a big call calling it the best you have seen. You can't make a call like that from Photos or TV? Unless you guys have looked the car over in person?

I've seen some real nice cars on screen, then seen them in person and picked them a part, bubbles, peel, bad work allround etc...not trying to stir, just I don't get how guys can say that without seeing work first hand.

Dad went to the peterson museum in the US and saw some foose cars in person.. not only is the paint unbelievable, but also things like gaps in doors and bonnets etc. all perfect..

You'd be amazed......like people who believe all they see on CNN or what they seen on Wikipedia.

I'm sure he does great work, Foose wouldn't have him otherwise, but to call it the best work ever without seeing it in the flesh yourself. Door gaps and lines are compulsory in that line of business. It's the same as a racing driver must knowing how to heel & toe.

Anyhow, the work Charlie does sure looks awesome.

Chip Foose was much more than one of Boyd's workers, see below. He was the talent behind the Boyd name while Coddington took all the glory.

Quote:
November 1990 brought about the beginning of a relationship with Boyd Coddington and Hot Rods by Boyd, becoming a full time position in 1993, which lead to Managing Director where Chip eventually became the President of Hot Rods by Boyd. Chip, who is widely acclaimed for his "Boyd Look" design and creative skills, was responsible for many internationally known vehicles such as: Roadster, Sportstar, Boydster I and II, and Boyd Air to name a few.
Read the full and very, very impressive bio of Chip Foose here.

Damn, I'm gunna have to get pay TV just to watch OverHaulin. I take it last night was the OverLord episode, where Chips dad overhauls Chips 56 F100.

And obviously the car means a lot to the Foose family. I'm always amazed by how many people say to me "It's just a car" when talking about my coupe. Its more to it than that as most of you probably know, and last night was also evidence of that. Inspirational stuff!
