Default Benny ‘The Kid’ Bray made his return (Summernats)

Benny ‘The Kid’ Bray made his return known by qualifying solidly in the field with a third position 6.056. Ben’s father Victor, six times Australian champion, failed to qualify with a time of 6.270. Normally this would be considered very respectable, however it just wasn’t good enough to make the quickest-ever field in the history of Top Doorslammer in Australia.

================================================== ======

(Sydney, NSW) Alan Dobson, West Australian native and the driver of the Rapisarda Racing Top Fuel dragster recorded the quickest run of his career with a 4.601-second pass.

================================================== ======

Other Group 1 Top Qualifiers include:

Top Fuel: Alan Dobson – 4.601
Top Alcohol: Gary Phillips – 5.674
Top Doorslammer: John Zappia - 6.040
Top Bike: Jay Upton – 6.485
Pro Stock: Andrew Stavroulakis – 7.208
Pro Stock Bike: Daniel Peaty – 7.124

Not sure how he went, plenty of close racing check out the finals they were all very close.

Brett Stevens was on fire all weekend was jumping from topfuel bike to doorslammer to funnycar
Zappia was on song for a 5 sec pass in the semi but melted his injector hat 3/4 track and ran a lazy 6.1
Awesome 2 days of racing
