Default Mondeo.... according to Auto Express

Lots of techo goodies for the new Mondeo if the lastest AE article is to be believed.

New pics out too

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/au...rd_mondeo.html

Quote:
Ford's new adaptive cruise control - which automatically matches the car's speed to that of the vehicle in front - features as an option. So does a tyre pressure monitoring system and Hill Launch Assist, which holds the model briefly on a slope after the driver has taken his foot off the brake.
Quote:
All cars are well specified as stan*dard, however; air-conditioning, stab*ility control, 'follow-me-home' headlights (which stay on briefly after the engine is turned off), a trip computer and an MP3 socket in the glovebox are all included in the equipment tally.
Quote:
For the first time, the Mondeo will also come with keyless entry and keyless start (the engine is fired via a dash-mounted 'power' button). Other firsts include Ford's EasyFuel system, with the fuel filler neck designed for petrol or diesel nozzles to prevent misfuelling.

That looks very nice. They just need to make it bigger and there is the new Falcon

I'd be plenty happy with it as is, but I hope some of those features make their way to Falcons

I'm assuming it's a journalists error.

Does anyone in the Ford world make a straight six other than Ford Australia???

Not that I know of, the US did but it was a POS.

I hope they dont use the XR5 motor, you dont want every hot euro ford having the same engine no matter how good it is. That V6 they currently have in the ST is very good.

The straight six is from the new Volvo S80.

YUP. 220kw to 240kw

Nice Engine, that will also more than likely be the engine for the Focus RS*

Let us pray.

Let us also pray they bring the Mondeo here, we need it to compete with the already buzzing medium size car segment.

Latest speculation is that the next Focus RS will use a 'powered up' version of the ST motor, see:

http://www.topspeed.com/cars/ford-focus-rs/ke438.html

I like the look of the new Mondeo, it just sits a little too high in the pictures I've seen. ie: there's a little too much room between the top of the tyres and the wheel arches - just like on my Zetec Focus.

The Mazda 6 & 3 seem to sit lower. What is it with the Euro Ford's and their ride height ?
