want to do a manual conversion on my mk2 1600 esky, i read somewhere the auto cars had a bigger transmission tunnel, is this correct? or is it just a case of finding a manual g/box crossmember and drilling a few holes? your assistance is appreciated.
Ian

Why not make use of the larger tunnel and put the Sierra 5speed in it?

at the moment i am sticking with the cross flow.my car has a bigger cam and extractors so i am gonna chuck on a coupla weber 40s and leave it like that for a while. i am gonna do a pinto conversion later on and then i will go the sierra box route. just out of curiosity, will the sierra box bolt up to the 1600? i doubt it, just curious.

I know that a sierra 5 speed will bolt up to a 1600 kent, just need a 2 litre bell housing, i have looked at doing the same for my mk2 but havent had the time or money to even look at it. hope this helps...just go the pinto, less hassles with finding a 2 litre bell housing for the kent and more fun in the long run too :nutsycuck
