Hey guys i need your help.
Im looking at getting a Falcon or Fairmont EB-ED-EF and EL if i can get a good price on one. Only ting is because i do alot driving i want dual fuel or straight gas. The the other thing is well the autos are everywhere but there is no manuals. I dont want a manual for the hoon factor i just cant stand autos. Anyone selling a lpg manual falcon wants $$$$$ for it. So what do you guys think. Any recemondations for me? Also im sure some of you have gas. On the 6 how much power goes it take? Cheers!

I was under the impression that all taxi and police cars had to be auto?
An ex-taxi would be a cheap option, I think standard the EL had around 160kw, so i think LPG would be a bit lower than that. |

They're good cars and will serve you well if you look after them.

You might be better off buying something that's not on gas & claiming the rebate for the conversion - at least you can get it done to how you want it, & you won't run the risk of buying something with a crap conversion done on it.

Buy an ex EF-EL taxi, $1000, get all the bearings repacked, $200 (unless you do it yourself) and an AU engine $500. Have yourself a nice EF for under $2k. Plus save about another 1k for other little fiddly bits that may need replacing

EF and EL manuals are very rare unless you buy an xr6. The best value would be to buy an EB/ED and have the conversion done yourself. It might cost you 600 or 700 dollars but then you have a warranty on the conversion and it will be professionally tuned too.

Do you want to buy a ED V8 wagon with LPG and a manual? Ooops you're in Perth, long drive...

Plenty around at a good price if you show patience. I'd agree about getting the LPG done yourself with rebate. Manual - well, you can convert if you like and be much cheaper than getting a reco on an Auto if the tranny is stuffed. I'd go for an ED or EB II.
