Default Doesn't like Ultimate

I've tried the BP Ultimate fuel a couple of times recently, but it seems to run worse than it does on the Plus ULP 95 octane stuff. I'm not too worried and before I get any "then durr use the ULP" comments thats what I'll be doing, I'm just curious why as everyone is saying its the best fuel. I just lose power when I put the ultimate in so, I'm sticking with the ULP. **** Shell, Caltex or any of the other stuff, my car likes the ULP better, and it's only 103c a litre. Just wondering why?

Your engine's compression and timing are suited for 91RON unleaded from the factory. 95 & 98 fuels are for cars with higher compression/forced induction, more advanced timing, highly-strung motors (hot n/a setup for example), etc

Stick with the 91 mate, 95 and 98 are simply too rich for the car as it is ;)

When i run my EB on ultimate i get an extra 100k's to a tank of fuel and more power and shes a stock 4.0l with a auto. I think it just depends on what ya car likes.

Shell V-Power is the bomb shizz.... but i cant really tell the diffrence in my car but my timming is advanced so gotta use it. if you're car is stock... i can't see the point of paying the extra. Mybe just stay on 95.

My car loves Ultimate. It's a EL 5.0L with slightly advanced timing.

The engine feels much better and it gets more K's to a tank as well.

It's not exactly stock though. Extractors, exhaust, XH snorkel, and the timing will be advanced as of tomorrow.

those mods don't warrant a requirement for 98RON though.

The timing advance will though!
