good to see Terry Wyhoon has a drive in a blue oval, he's a good bloke and a great mechanic, even did the roadworthy when I got my EB

If this race is on TV at all I will watch for sure

Because they're purpose built racecars that can lap at V8supercar pace and have absolutely nothing in common with any production Holden.

Holden lied and cheated to get them in last time... it made a mockery of the rules.

I reckon car 98 will be one to look out for, the WRX STi Spec C with Chris Atkinson, Dean Herridge and Cody Crocker.

Quote:

They were never production, no-one ever pretended they were except for Ford fans that needed an excuse to knock Holden. Ford (and every other company) could have made a car to compete with it, but they didn't have the cash or balls. Holden simply read the rulebook and built the best car they were allowed. If you looked at the specs of all the other cars that raced in Nations Cup, a lot were also similarly modified. Remember John Bowes Mustang?

It's a shame (although not suprising) Ford didn't put together a works team, I reckon the F6 would be hard to catch around the mount.

Holden got an exemption for the 7L monaro Supercar based on the guise that they were going to manufacture them as road vehicles...
Then they bent the Nations cup rules to allow them to compete because they didnt fit any other catagory and would have been left as very expensive "white elephants" with no where to race.

Now they're just expensive museum pieces.

& what happened to them, they reckoned they were to quick & knobbled them out of racing , the biggest advantage they had was their handling untill they raised their ride height by 2 inches

yet they let that poxy monaro keep cheating thats one of the reasons why the class died.

I watched those damn monaro's destroy the production car series. The only people deluded enough to think they should have been there were holden fans.

This should be a ripper of a race. Would love to see some more class 7&8 cars out there... keen to see what they can do!

There is a price ceiling on the cars that can compete. It is around $100K from memory.

it: How does a TE50 (falcon I assume) get to enter when they have been out of production for 5 years or so? Does this mean you can enter any "production" car no matter what year? It would be an unfair advantage entering an AU!!
