Default GT 40 on the streets of BRISSY

Hey guys,

Driving home today up the western freeway I was distracted by a thing of beauty! A Red and Yellow GT 40! Now i wasn't too sure untill the "Oh **** we forgot kids can't drive... we need more head room stat" Bubble. Dam that is sexy! So yea too tell you the truth it was actually on a flat bed but it had Original wheels and everything. The number 25 painted in Black surrounded by a white circle. Dam this bad girl is sexy. Pitty i was driving by myself and was too affraid of getting done for using a phone while driving. (Although i think my excuse is good enough like hell its a GT40!) but yea i'll dream now pleasant dreams ... only wish is that i had a towel and box of tissues in the car with me ... gotta go clean all the drewl and other bodily fluids that i disposed of unexpectedly. hahaha

Yeah I've seen a GT40 red and yellow driving in geebung/virginia area. Sounds awsome it pulled into the carwash behind me on sandgate road, even the note from idle was awsome.

If you dont know what a GT40 is i think you need to go do a google search and then kick yourself in the face

Even my 14 year old knows what a GT40 is and he's not even into cars.
Yes I know and I blame myself he's not into cars, I rushed him into it and he's OD'd on cars at young age.

Are there any track days or club events in Brisbane this weekend?

When you say it had the original style wheels, were they the BRM pin style with the centre locking nut (these look like a six spoke design) or the Halibrand pin type?

It couldn’t possibly be a joke. Jokes are funny.

The 40th anniversary GT Falcon doesn’t deserve the right to be mentioned in the same breath as a GT 40.

LOL, Im amused.

It didnt take long at all for people to starting getting confused between the GT40 and the 40th anniversary GT Falcon. I think someone did mention this would happen in another thread on the 40th anniversary GT Falcon. And it only took one person to throw everyone else off, almost everyone... Funny

Judging by the contex of the first few posts, I'd assume a 60's GT40

Something a little like this...

Just by pure chance I managed to stumble across a group of custom cars on Easter Saturday that happened to be driving south out of Narrandera. It was a little bit hard trying to chase them driving a B-double, but I finally caught up with everyone. They all stopped at a little town called Morundah about 30 kms down the road and parked in the main street. I later found out that is was the Narrandera Rod Run and they do this ever year.

This DRB GT 40 is owned by a bloke called Frank and he lives in Sydney. The great thing about this car is that he drives it everywhere. He’s covered 32,000 kms in the last four years.

I was tempted to drive off in it and leave Frank with the truck but he wouldn’t have a bar of it. There were plenty of other cars that were absolutely awesome but because I’d spent so much time crapping on to Frank I wasn’t able to get many pics of the other cars.

Cheers, Danny

Brilliant pics Danny, I saw the GT going through here a few days back too. Narrandera has the rod run every year and they always get some awesome cars. Kicking myself I didnt go!
