i have a 82 model datsun bluebird and a 253 sitting there in the yard and was wandering if the 253 would fit in and if it is at all legal

Not until you do the brakes up, modify the suspension etc.
You'd also need diff and tranny, now it's getting expensive.
would make a good sleeper.

You can do anything with a gas axe a sledgehammer and a mig welder, I used to race against a bluebird with a 350 chev in it and a commodore front clip.

jeeeez ,,, theres not a lot of room in there
there is a few guys running rover v8's in em but i havent come across one with a 253 in it
and it wud be really heavy

my bluey with a fj20 turbos just squeezes in there and is engineered and street legal , i had to do a brake upgrade and a s3 crossmember
