Default Useless technical support.

I ordered a domain name and hosting package on the weekend and i was wondering why i hadnt received an email about it yet, ive left a support ticket and i went on the live chat 7 times before someone actually answered, check how helpful this guy is:

Bobby T: Welcome to MD sales live chat. How can I assist you with your sales enquiry
Phill Collins: Hi, i recently purchased a domain name and hosting plan, but i still havnt received an email telling me its worked etc. Can you tell me whats going on with it?
Phill Collins: i submitted a support ticket but theres been no response
Bobby T: Can you please provide your domain name ?
Phill Collins: i ordered fordxp.com
Phill Collins: i also have another domain with you guys which is coflash.com
Bobby T: one moment...
Bobby T: ok i have run the set up of the hosting package and the registration.
Phill Collins: ok, so does that mean ill get an email about it soon, or does it take time to process?
Bobby T: you will get an email shortly.
Phill Collins: ok cool, thanks for that youve been a great help
Bobby T: i just checked that it was completed and the domain is not available
Phill Collins: it said it was when i tried to register it on saturday
Bobby T: ok.
Phill Collins: and it still says now on your website that its available
Bobby T: one moment...
Bobby T: i just checked and it was registered.
Phill Collins: thats wierd, because ive checked on 3 other domain name sites and they all say its available.
Bobby T: ok. well those listings usually take a few hours to update. that could be the reason why it hasn't come back as being registered/.
Bobby T: it definitely has been registered.
Bobby T: Thank you for using the MD Live Chat. Please live chat with us again if you require further assistance.

So he sends the last 3 messages within about 7 seconds then exits and leaves me with nothing, not even asking if id like a new domain. Id call them, but at $3 a minute they're dreaming. It definatly isnt registered as ive waited. What kind of help is that? So frustrating.

Thats some poor service indeed.

If you still have the domain, i recommed jaguarpc.com i host through them and they are brilliant. If i have any email queries/problems they are fixed within a couple of hours which is a great turn around time for a place in the states.

Maybe he used to work for Ford CRC and that's how they taught him to deal with difficult situations. :

I had similar problems with bigpond as my private ISP

I had an account and address with them a few years back, which i closed down and changed to another ISP foer about 2 years.
Last year I changed back to bigpond and asked if I could have my old email address again.

bigpond: "no, im sorry, that name is reserved"
me: "oh, its a pretty unique name (my company name), who is it reserved for?"
bigpond looks up name.. "Actually i see its reserved for you as you were last registered user"
me: "great so I can have it"
bigpond: "no.. im sorry its not available as its reserved"
me: "ok so I cant have it coz its reserved for me..."
bigpond: "yes sir.. of course we can apply to get it unlocked, but there is a $25.00 fee..."

I have a different address now....

Sounds like a live chat I had with bigpond over a similar issue some time ago. She just left lol. I assumed she didn't have a clue what to do and decided to make a quick exit. Very frustrating. I ended up going with someone else.

I now use these guys and have never had issues with them at all:

nah if he was ex CRC he'd be used to saying "oh they all do that, our system shows your computer has been modified so we can't offer any warranty assistance".
