hey all...
yep another 6 stacker has cracked it...cds are jammed or what ever... im having trouble getting the b.astard out tho...ive tried the coat hangers in a u shape, tried bashing it tried everything... anyone got any good ideas...ive had it for the moment...i need a break before i smash the car... cheers |

What suburb are you in?
I have a proper set of removal tools that you could use if you are close to Langwarrin/ Cranbourne. They can be tricky to get out. You have to put the U shape removal tools in and pull towards outside of car whilst someone else is pushing from behind the radio. |

go to any audio installer and they should have the tools to get it out

really sharp chisel and chisel out the centre, the outsides of the cd player will collapse allowing removal..... :P
go see autobarn dude, the guys helped me mate get his player out of the hilux surf... what a job that was

The other suggestion is to use Allen keys instead of coathanger as they are stronger and don't bend when you try to pull them towards the doors.

I had this problem with my stereo too, someone had broken the clips off when they installed the phone hands free kit and it was a ***** to get out took me 2 days but I managed to get it out without breaking anything. I found if you use a piece of piano wire with a 60 degree bend about 1cm from the end you can get it onto the outside of what remains of the clip and by turning the wire push it back in... it's still a ***** to do, but it's better that ripping the fascia off your HU
