Nup. It was in reply to the “I’d rather be a Holden than a ricer post” http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=99380 and somehow wound up here when I tried posting while the thread was being locked. It has nothing whatsoever (explicit or implied) to do with Mazda SP23’s

You have to be kidding right.....

I remember Sierra's and Skylines being banned from Bathurst because they were too quick and were showing up the locally made "cubic inches".

It's been back to the same old boring Falcon vs Commodore rubbish ever since, each claiming to be "the best"........."what an absolute joke"

According to wheels, the MPS does 80-120 in 3.5 seconds. The 6spd manual BF XR6 turbo does 80-120 in 4.0 seconds. Stats aren't always everything but they are a good indication.

From a standing start, both are capable of low to flat 14s. The XR6T would be a more consistent performer though. The MPS is FWD and is extremely difficult to launch.

Correct me if i'm wrong but i never implied that you said an MPS was that good. All i said is that an MPS would give a stock XR6T a run for its money - i.e it'll be a good contest whichever car 'wins'.

Well after almost 4 years of owning my thing and getting sick of simple things breaking i have been looking at a replacement in the shape of one of these mazda hatches i like the look of the turbo mazda 3.

Was serious into going toa fpv but the build quality is just like mine very ordinary :

Um, they don't even race the current Ford V8s at Bathurst, they still run Windsors,

I rekon the Mazda would woop it off the line but eventually the bigger motor would over take the 3

Depends on the driver I guess, I had a run against an mps in a manual 220 XR8 on the track ( note I said the Track ) and it was neck and neck, nothing in it.

For a small car they are pretty quick though the 220's stock like mine arn't anything to brag about.
