Default Here's a weird one for you......

Ok so we all know AU Utes dont have traction control.

Well apparently mine does! I have a TS50 dash in the ute (genuine one, not just the mask) and Ive noticed that on startup, when you put it into R the traction control light comes on. Put it into D at the end of the driveway and out it goes.

Bit weird considering it has nothing even close to TC fitted!

Any ideas what it might be? No other lights coming on, and I cant work out what the equivalent light on the XR dash would be.

All utes have TC - it's your right boot

Just because a light comes on on the non-standard fitment dash doesn't mean you have TC. All it means is that whoever fitted the dash didn't have the know-how to do the wiring properly for the features your car does or doesn't have.

Er yes I know, Im not that stupid. Maybe you didnt understand that my "well it does have it" comment was a sarcastic one.

Oh, and that someone who put the dash in would be Herrod.

Easiest way to see if you have TC is to put your foot down hard, if the light flashes and the car handles like a sick mule then you've got it. it annoys the hell out of me having to turn the damn thing off all the time if I want to take someone at the lights

No, I know for a fact that I do not have a Traction Control System, I just want to know why the light is lighting up.

see the problem is every time i see the little icon of the wheel spinning (the TC light), it makes me think "well the car must want me to do that so thats why it's lighting up". So far it hasnt complained but I cant seem to find the icon on the dash that looks like a supercharger when it lights up, bugger.

if you dissconnect pin 11 on the right hand connector (the one that wasn't modified) it will cut the feed to the TC light i think it's Dark Blue

Thats nothing. My 1990 EA had traction control before I sold it. It consisted of a stuffed clutch, a tired motor and an engine warning light on the dash :hihi:
