Hey guys.

Getting a new car. All though im getting a bike to ride around during the week. Just dont know what car to get. I want manual. Some HALF decent on the juice and i have a budget of about 6k max.

Corrolla, reliable, and go for ever.
I think I saw somewhere that there were more Corrollas made than any other car in the world.
Or an EL Futura on gas for your budget.

For that money, I would get a manual V8 VN/VP Commodore and modify it to kingdom come :. It may be acceptable on petrol because it only weighs 1360kg - don't quote me on this though. Cheers.

Actually out of all those cars I would get the MX6 Turbo. Replace with the FE3 engine and turbo it.

Some guy did that with his TX5 Turbo which is 4 doors (MX6 is 2) and did 13s.

Just did a brief surf... something like this might work well for you...

1993 Peugeot 405 Mi16. Mid-sized sports sedan thing, manual.

They're a 2.0litre 4-cyl DOHC 16-valve with 116kW @ 6500rpm and 193Nm @ 3500rpm, 5spd manual... at 1180kg. Not very heavy, decently powerful engine considering its size and age (a current Focus 2.0 has 107kW 185Nm for example) and its relatively feature packed. Would be easy on the juice too.

Just a thought.

Well if you were in nsw I would have suggested my 1988 ga70 supra twin turbo aero top. But since you are not over here I guess I wont offer it up for 6k.

Just look around the trading post and quokka and ebay and see what you can find. There are plenty of good cars with lots of grunt and reliability within that price range.

A standard EF went the same as my 302 on gas, so and EF-EL on gas would be slower than that, if you know what I mean
