My rego total is $820 with ctp and that. Insurance is $1000 for the year, so they both kind of stuff me around, more so the rego since it all has to be in one hit.

My insurance was due last month.
I went in personally to the company and said to the lady look I've had no accidents and no claims I think I should get a discount. Keyed in a few things on the computer and said she could reduce it by 50 bucks. I thought great 50 bucks is 50 bucks and I did ring around before hand and they were still the cheapest anyway.
You guys get ripped in the eastern states on insurance paying 1000 bucks for a magna is ridiculous I pay less for my xr6.

Erik it's probably starting to get to the stage where you need to consider whether your really gaining any benefit from comprehensive insurance for that vehicle.

It's obviously going to come down to your personal preference - and you need to at least have 3rd party property insurance for the benefit of other road users, but if the car costs $7K and your paying $1k a year, consider the age and the km on the vehicle, and whether it would just be better to buy a whole new car if for whatever reason you do have a significant crash in it.

What rating are you currently? I assume if you are just going to rating 1, that you are currently rating 2? How much impact do you think the rating has on premium from year to year? It's approx 10% drop only. So if your premium for your rating 2 year was $1200, then in the rating one year, it should be around $1080 ($1200 - 120). Insurance companies only give you a roughly 10% discount per year as your rating improves, but they add back on 20% for each claim, if you don't have no claim bonus protection.

So the quotes you are getting appear to be in the ballpark; it is your expectations that are outside that park and the ball is nowhere in sight.

I pay just over $100/month for 2 lots of comprehensive car insurance as well as contents insurance which covers us for $40,000 of contents. 1 car is the EL which is nearly 10 years old, the other is the Peugeot which is 8 months old.
Moving out of the metro area has helped!

Ralliart, you need to start telling the truth. Get over yourself, learn to spell and type, and stop feeding us this BS - FFS you can't even back out of a driveway without hitting something.

(go and annoy them on the magna forums - this is a ford forum)

So if you are ringing round for quotes with other companies and they ask "have you had any accidents?", what are you going to say? Note, they don't asked "have you had any accidents you made an insurance claim for?". They could use that as an excuse not to pay if you aren't straight with them.

Listen

I have sat back and watched all this going on, and I have had enough of your poor spelling, take the time to get a spell checker or write your posts out in Microsoft Word and spell check them.

Google Tool Bar works with IE or FireFox, I use it with all my posts.

A little bit of effort goes a long way, and avoids me deleting posts in future.

Being under 25 and living in a bad area are the killers, I only pay $735 for my TE 50 at an agreed value with motorsport coverage and salvage rights!
Your situatiuon reminds me when I wanted to insure my $2000 turbo Sigma in 1994 and they quoted me $1500 a year! It doesnt pay to be young when it comes to insurance companies.

This should make you feel better, I did an online quote through Shannons for the same vehicle but with my details (ie postcode) $1245.22...... To think I have 3 cars fully insured for less than that!!!

thats the best thing u have said all day, i don't know why, but every time i post on here i make all the spelling mistakes but on other sections I'm fine, anyway back to my insurance i know what i will be doing

1. fixing my front end ( DO NOT DAMAGE IT AGAIN)
2. reducing my insurance AMOUNT by getting a bigger excess, i have rang around a few insurance companies like Racv, just car and allianz, and i have one solution and that the best solution and thats stay with aami but down grade to price i want to keep my full com but I'm not plaining on spending $1k on it , i was thinking of going down to third party, but thats not an option for me,
3. so now i just wait for aami's let into the mail.
4. i was thinking of changing but if i changed my rating goes down to rating 3 , so then i pay more again, so i decided to stay whom I'm with.

ps using - firefox now for spelling reasons

close thread fixed my insurance
made my excess higher to Flexi-premium with aami to $2500, which the total comes to $541, that was the best option for me 2 to do, now all i go do now is be really careful on the road not have any accidents at all
