Pretty sure the Escape is actually a Mazda and the engine is not Fords, thankfully.

I'm betting he is talking about the Taurus. It came out during the ESeries time and they sold about 400 of them in total as they were crap compared to the locally built Fairmonts.

Although these days they represent pretty good value if you can handle FWD. They are decked out pretty well, but parts would be a bugger to get.

What a stupid thing to say, the falcon's have had the I6 since they were released back when ever it was, i think it was 1960's and ford have held on to it and developed it into the awesome engine it is today in the bf. Only a Crummiedoor drive would say something stupid like that cause he thinks his beloved v6 is almighty but it ain't anyway thats enough said let me just depart saying GO FORD, GO FALCON AND GO THE I6 :sm_headba

Unless you count the Aus assembled V6 Capris!

Ford of europe also use V6's but the Falcon has never had a V6

Basically any Ford made in the world that has a 6 cyl. is a V6... the only exception is the Australian Falcon.

Incorrect-a-mundo!!

F-Series trucks came with I6 engines, for the same reason our Falcons did - torque monsters! Late 40's F trucks started with a 95hp 3.7L I6 through to a 150hp 4.9L I6 into the mid 90s. Of course, they use the essex V6s now.

True, but I was talking about more recently (last 10 years).
We can go back and say that almost all 6cyl's in the world were I6's in the 60's and 70's or so.

Admittedly though I didn't realize the F trucks carried an I6 right through to 15 or so years ago.

You did't say the last 10 years though.

F-Series trucks used an I6 right up to 1996, after the ED Falcon willie's mate reckon had a V6.

what about the couriers and the explorers as well.

well i know what your going to say the courier is a mazda and has the mazda engine. WELL NOT TRUE. its a 100% ford engine. mazda wouldn't build a crappy v6 as the courier one

but wait theres more you know the explorers also better known as the exploder. well it has a v6 in it....

but ford used the left over engines for the exploders and put them in the couriers... THEY HAVE THE SAME ENGINE....

anyway back on topic. NO ford aus did not release a v6 falcon EVER...
