I think they have replaced the Ford Sportsman block (not 100% sure) with the new Boss block, they can be bored to 4.125, they are pretty reasonably priced at about $1790 U.S compared to Dart, Dart Iron Eagle, I would also like to know about these blocks. I heard they may have had issues with the castings but again not 100% on this.

they have both the sportsman and the boss blocks at the moment at the shop up in brisbane. they quoted me 2800 for the sportsman in a 351 i am goin to see them tomorrow and hopefuly they can give me a ruff hp rateing for these blocks. There about 1000 cheaper than the dart block and i am yet to here any major problems with the R302. If i can save the 1000 bucks on the block thats a long way towards a set of heads.

If you can get the R block for a good price then grab it. It will make a great base for your project.

If the casting issues for the new Boss block have been sorted or was a load of mularky to begin with I would lean towards the Boss, 1790 US $ = approx $2150 aussie. Then there will be frieght and GST on top but no customs duty. I'm pretty sure they can be bored out more than the R block and may have higher HP rating, I would at least be researching the idea.
