Default The good the bad and the stupid!

Howdy All,

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend! As it says in my profile, im currently living in Newcastle, you know that place thats currently turning into a modern day atlantis city?

(The Good)
First of all i want to commend the majority of drivers in the hunter that i have come across during this rather wet and stressful time. Most drivers have been driving to the conditions, leaving sensable distances between them and the car in front and avoiding stupid situations. They have generally been very patient and understanding. Thanking you all.

Along with this display of excellent driving there has been a few incidents which have managed to annoy me enough to write this post:

1. Friday (The BAD) i was standing at a bus stop about 40m from a set of traffic lights. The road infront of me was two lanes either way, and due to the terential downpour, the road had a fair bit of water on it, the gutter was full, and there was a pool extending half way into the lane closest to me. Most drivers slowed and drove around the pool, some of the P-platers and a few other members of the driving commmunity, drove through the puddle and created a bit of splash... this doesnt bother me.. unexperienced driver... ill let them off... The thing that really annoyed me... (i was standing 3-4 meters off the kerb, back as far as i could go), the lights were red and a %#*@wit in a red VN commodore deiceded to move in as close to the gutter as possible and plant it when the lights went green.... as a result the wiener sent up a splash of water all over the pathway and bus stop... I got drenched... thats not really a problem as i was pretty wet anyways, and luckily i was the only one there to get wet. However 3 minutes before an older couple (walking stick type) were waiting there with me under the bus shelter, what would have happend to them if they got drenched? They could have had a long way to get home, and could have ended up with a cold or even pneumonia.. SOME PEOPLE JUST DON'T THINK THINGS THROUGH!!!

Note to VN Holden Driver... i got your rego... i know where you live....hahaha

2. Today (The Stupid) I was backing out of my pop's driveway, rather slowly so's not to ground out the ute (is a dog of a driveway), i checked both directions on this long straight suburban road (was a 4WD that blocked my view in the last part of my reverse for a few seconds). Anyway i was most of the way out which would have been clear to most drivers, who would slow down and even stop to let me finish the manueveour and we both move off safely. Out of know where this fella (red P-Plater) in a low-lux thing appeared. I saw him and stoped, just in case, and im glad i did. with me taking up 2/3rds of the road this fella was too impatiant, sped up (possibly 70 in a 50 zone) and snuck in behind me and the opposite gutter and almost cliped me... I was not a happy camper... I just dont understand some people... as i said... SOME PEOPLE JUST DON'T THINK THINGS THROUGH!!!

Sorry i just had to get that of my chest.
Anyways, enough of my ranting... Hope you all had a safe and enjoyable weekend.

Cheers Philbo

My thoughts and prayers go out to those who have lost members of thier family this weekend, and also to those who have been displaced from thier homes and places of business.

The Good

People who stick to the middle or left lane when I want to overtake.

The Bad

People who travel under the limit, are not turning right and refuse to change lane. I'm talking about that stupid man in the Ford Laser on Springvale Road.

The Stupid

Probably me
