Default Bonnet Patch and Spray

G'day guys,

I'm wanting to patch up and respray my EF Falcon Bonnet and return it to it's former glory. It's currently got some nasty little gravel dints in the front end like it's been in a pebble storm or something. Does anyone know any really top places that are cheap around the south eastern area or Melbourne that can patch her up and match the gunmetal grey duco exactly? And are there any places that give discounts for forum members?

Cheers, Matt

The whole bonnet will need to be painted and blended to the guards. From memory a mate got bonnet, front and roof done for $800 mate's rates.....

THey never mix it good ever.. Even white they will stuff up just to **** ya off. I got magna red mixed once painted it and it was pink... The spray painters know how to mix paints better than paint sellers

Yeah I think I'll leave this one to the professionals rather than tackle it myself ;)

Those all seem pretty good prices. Is that a spray and bake process Stock and Psych, or just sprayed on?

I'd prefer you go where I got mine done in resivoir, Gunmetal is a difficult one to match.

The bloke who did mine is the rep for Jaguar Dupont paints in australia, and does the paint on the Jag F1 show cars when theyre in australia. There was even an incident where a ford dealer sent him a GT-P to re-match up the bumpers because he did a better job than ford themselves!

Unbeleivable job on my car though and an unbeleiveable perfectionist, I'd recommend him highly. Send me a PM for his details if you're interested.

Paint shops can't mix for shit. They always mix off the code, which was great 12 years ago (**** my car is 12 next month!) but the paint has long since faded.

I'll ask him next time I see him, but it was a bloody good job. Looks great.
