Here is a Top Gear online review on the VXR8. Not done by Clarkson but still good...

I'm thinking that maybe we should all wander down to the nearest GMH dealership and go for a test drive ......

5th Gear is the lame spin-off of Top Gear - in fact the presenters Vicki Butler H. and Tiff Needell were all Top Gear presenters too until the old format show came to an end in 2000/2001....

Then came the 'new' Top Gear in 2003, with Clarkson/Mays/Hammond which of course proved a real hit (even my wife loves watching it, the series returns on SBS on the 2nd July), so in the UK, the new free-to-air Channel 5 started their own mtotring show, calling it '5th Gear'.... and they tried soo hard to copy the proven winning Top Gear 1 hour long show that it made for cringworthy viewing - half the stuff they do/say on 5th Gear is a waste of time really!

Shame we are still a series or two behind the UK with our Top Gear shows though, I think the series starting on the 2nd July is from about mid'06.

Anyway, my 2 cents worth !

i agree with top gear being a much better show but without a doubt tiff needell and jason plato from fifth gear are much better drivers than anyone on top gear so its good to watch just on that alone

What I want to know is how Tom Ford squeezed 27.2mpg (10.39L/100km) out of it!

Well, it is an R8, might have been a different story if they had a Senator, GTS or even a Grange. R8 is only the base model.

Thats what i love about the ford and holden sedan range. All braun and and no brain makes it all the more fun to drive when you don't have a bug up your bum.

The side on shot is almost the worst angle imo. That short overhang is just UGLY!
