theres no need to spend 15k. get headers/exhaust,cam,shift kit(if auto),DIY CAI!
also if its an auto get some 3.7's or 3.9's if you still want to obtain economy if not get 4.11's and a 2500-3000 hi stall and you should see 14 seconds!!! even for a turbo you wouldnt need to spend 15k(unless you want something stupid like 400rwkw) :

snypereb is exactly correct! Ive got a 1995 series 2 EF XR6 also, so far ive put a air intake (took the pod off) k&n panel filter and 2.5' exhaust thats it, need new tyres so im tight on cash at the moment. But yeah Pacemaker Headers, 2.5" custom Exhaust system, 10mm Top gun leads, K&N panel filter, NGk Spark Plugs that would make huge difference man. Thats what im saving up for next anyways.

All comes down to how much you have to spend and if you want fuel economy and how fast do you wanna go.

if you want NA performance sell the car and get a BA XR6. Should have a bit left over for standard filter, tyres, exhaust.
It won't get you 12s, but'll be easier than to pump $15k of non-turbo mods into an EF. |

be different. stroke it, twin TB, headers, exhaust, manual, huge cam, a squirt of nitrous to get you off the line fast. get a 9" for reliability

dude, 15k... what CANT you do. i'd go basics first. exhaust/headers/air intake/common pimp looks (lowering/rims) go bigger brakes or just c/slotted and drilled. 15k man... the list goes on... but not forced induction, that sux.

ill second for the stroking... i was thinking of doing it to my EB. It will be awesome and very different.
9 inch with 3.9 gears shift kit 3000rpm stall stroke custom headers and exhaust air intake big cam If your not gonna go with turbo or supercharger because of legal issues, its very easy to hide them... get a supercharger with water injection so you don't have an intercooler hanging out. You cant tell with mine unless you really know what your looking for. |

AS soon as you said 15k i almost cried with excitement for you. While it probably really annoying everyone saying this.. a BA is a sensible alternative. You can get them quite cheap nowdays.. If I was you go and have a look at the Brochures that Russelw has uploaded in the brochure section and see if you want to upgrade your car to look like a EL GT or buy and AU and make it look like a TE50.. in my opinion, spending that much that quickly on an xr6 may make you regret it down the track.... If you start with something like a BA, you already have a really good car to work with (NOT IN ANYWAY saying that E series are not good) Good Luck. If you do want to mod your car I think suspension uprgrade (stiffer shocks and springs) and a wade cam should be right up your alley. Theres. Getting the induction sorted might also help you with your throttle response. A good exhaust system (Redback is cheap and good value) would be well worth your while.
