Default Escort 2lt charcoal canister piping?

hi guys
tried this thread on the classic ford forum, no luck, am hoping someone here can help!

there are 3 inlets/outlets on the charcoal canister on my '79 2lt van. The outlet marked 'carb' is blanked off, the one marked 'tank' looks to be connected to a line heading back to the fuel tank, however, the outlet marked 'purge' is not connected to anything but looks like it did have a line attached previously. Where does this go to? I've checked under the aircleaner and looked at the carby but can't see anywhere for a line to go to ... some of the emissions have been disconnected but not by me!

cheers fjw

It goes to the air cleaner, not underneath but on the side, opposite to the snorkel side of the cleaner. On a 2.0L motor the carb outlet is supposed to be blanked off as the carby has internal venting. It is only connected on the 1.6L motor.
