Hi Guys,
Some of you may (but more likely may not) have heard of something called the DriveByte Tour, organised by DriveByte Shooting. It's something myself and a few other people here in WA have been organising for quite a while now. We have just got our website up at http://www.drivebyte.net. Basically, it's a tour around Australia using all sorts of technology (audio, visual, wireless networking, gps e.t.c) but with a twist; all devices must be run from the car, on the car and inside the car, with the exception of handheld cameras! Basically, I am posting this to get some interest drummed up in both local (WA) and interstate people for various reasons (discussion, participants, sponsors e.t.c), as we would like to involve the greater IT and Motoring community! But the real reason for this post is, we currently don't have any interstate input as for stops and locations! Outside of WA we have no idea where to go, where to stay and what to look for. Below is a rough map of where we intend to travel; more information can be found at http://drivebyte.net/tour.htm It currently shows us heading to Kalgoorlie but this may change. If anyone has any information on stops and locations that the DriveByte team should be looking out for, or anything else, please let me know in this thread, or by contacting me at contact@drivebyte.net. Additionally, if you are interested in becoming a participant, or even a sponsor (we have mass opportunity for our sponsors, as we could even take this as far as community tv, or maybe even one of the main tv channels). we already have PerthPixels.net onboard and are currently in discussion with Audiocom, Harvey Norman and other major local IT/AV industry businesses. If you want to get fully involved feel free to join the forums over at http://forums.drivebyte.net/ Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you soon! - Shane, representing Ford in the DriveByte Team! |
