Default the big girl coughs when you get up er

hey guys, does anyone know or heard of an au coughing when you put ya foot flat down? when u do shes starts then nothing as if the engine just just stops for split second then keeps goin. i though the engine was stallin but me bro thinks that either the butterfly on the throttle body needs cleanin or the spark leads need changin. Any ideas?

Spark'd be my first port of call, Leads, plugs, maybe coil pack if the others don't do anything?

If you have put up with this for a while, why do you expect an answer inside 10 minutes. Your brother is probably on the money, but a "cough" is hard to diagnose over the net.

lol... Am I the only one who thought differently after reading the thread title?

Could be a number of things- fuel related, ecu, components failing. It almost sounds like it's running too rich when you floor it, but you would need to look into whats causing it

my au3 sr does the same thing. just had leads, plugs changed, injectors serviced and new fuel filter and it still happens..

have you noticed at happens all the time, or just when low on fuel?

mine always picks the worst time to do it, ie, trying to make a snappy u-turn, or pull out into traffic..

as JC said it will hard to diagnose ova the net...get a multimeter and check your leads and coil pack 1st.....

yeah the exhaust and catback are 2year old, happens when eva and yeah at the worst of times. she does seem to use fuel, so yeah prob runnin rich.

Had the same problem a while back , fitted new fuel pump and problem solved!!
