I went and had a look at the Ghia Hatchback. The brochure is mainly XR5 !! The XR5 is a nice car but not the bread butter FOCUS. The brochure should FOCUS on the bread butter FOCUS models. Not much info on the GHIA etc. Spec sheets are good, but the brochure is mainly XR5 !!! I am waiting until MONDEO info is released before deciding to change cars,FOCUS GHIA or MONDEO GHIA.

The website is slightly better than the brochure but still not great for those who don't want (or can't afford) an XR5 or Ghia. Try finding a picture of the interior for LX or Zetec for example. When I was researching earlier this year I found the UK website much more detailed and informative. 360 degree views, configurators, demo movies etc and heaps more details on specifications. Just a small example is fuel consumption. Have you ever wondered how the hell these car companies come up with 7.1 litres per 100km ??? In addition to breaking this down into urban, extra urban, and combined, they actual explain how they came up with these numbers. And I quote ..... "Urban - An engine started from cold in laboratory conditions operated at varying speeds, maximum 31 mph, average 12 mph over a theoretical distance of 2.5 miles (4 km). Extra Urban - Conducted immediately after the urban cycle, it consists of half steady speed driving and half varying speed driving, maximum 75 mph over a distance of 4.3 miles (7 km). Combined - This is an average of the two parts of the test, weighted by the distances covered in each part. All vehicles are 5-speed manual unless auto stated. "Its worth a look if you haven't been there or if you work for Ford marketing Australia. http://www.ford.co.uk/ie/foc_c307/-/...o/-/-/-/464512 The pricing was all out though ...... |
