i have used RE92 225/65/14's and got heaps of wheelspin (even hitting the limiter), still ran a 14.8. My quickest run has been with my 235/45/17's, still too much wheelspin.

It's manual I'll hopefully have the lsd in by then so I shouldn't get too much wheelspin.
Thanks for the suggestions so far. Neil

good luck at WSID Neil.
I reckon you're going to go really well. The car looks a treat and has the power to do well if you get it to the ground. I raced loxxr6 at WSID who was about 5rwkw over you at the dyno day in Granville the other day when he was only running 141 rwkw and getting 14.7-14.9 over the 400m. I think you will be carrying less weight so it will be interesting to see how you go. |

grab yourself a set of retreads they will cost u maybe $40 each if u warm them they will be better than any street tyre.

not to sure if you want to go 100 mph on street retreads, at best there rated to 140 kmh, if that retread peels off at around 80 to 90 mph I would not like to be steering the car..
While retreads may have improved over years, I wouldn’t put retreads on my family's car. There is a tyre company that specializes in remoulded slick drag rubber in Toowoomba, these guy’s have cars running 11 sec pass’s on these tyres. But you need front runners to use them properly.

Neil 14.6 is on the cards loxxr6 ran a 14.67 I think best on the day and he had 141rwkw on Sprio's dyno at the time. You should be lighter which will help overall but traction could be the problem. Its all in the 60' on the strip. I am running 2.36 and loxxr6 was running 2.10 now that was good.

Lower profile tyres don't grip as well as higher profile tyres...

Yeah I know I've got some 15 inch rims to go on the back they have tyres on them there just a hard compond don't think there going to be any good for the drags. I can't find anyone in sydney who sells nagkangs for under 110 I really dont want to spend more than 160 for the 2 seeing as there only going to be used when I drag hte car.

i use to go just over 100mph in my wagon which was 2 tonne of car so i cant complain about retreads never let me down in the 6 years i have been using them on the back of the car.
thats strange your not allowed to run them at wsid seen as there was a article in street machine last year about them saying how ppl were running quicker times with them.

I'm just using the stock EL Ghia rims with Bridgestone G'Grid 215/60R15. They actually grip quite well if you give them a good bake.

Rollin did his 14.5 of G'Grid's... they definitely need to be baked well, and Rollin makes sure of that...

Whatever you do, dont take something like 18s. I did and ran a 14.62 and 2.97 60ft on em. Ran 13.50 and 2.19 60ft on street semi slicks. Next I'm trying a full slick and 6000rpm clutch dump I just hope she holds together! |

I think the smallest rim I can use on my car is a 17", what tyres would be good in a 17". The 18" factory Dunlops worked OK when I was at Heathcote but they are very expensive.
