Default Herrod - Pulled out from being a Sponsor?

Has Herrods pulled out from being a site sponsor? I can't seem to find them on the list anymore.

Was there a reason why? Thats pretty average form to just pull out.

As Toke said its a shame to loose all the information from their section

Shame to see one of the biggest names in Ford Tuning pull out of Ford Forums.

Maybe they ran out of other peoples products to put there name on, so they have to concentrate on that side of there business. The service i received from them compared to other Forum Sponsors is not on the same level and the one thing that really annoys me is they way they would always down grade every one elses products, i am still trying to work out what products do they actually make themselves considering they are the Number 1 Ford Enhancement/Performance In Australia. Who did give them this title?

You're joking right! Anyone who knows Rob knows that he has had a very had time personally over the past two years or so. He also knows that the time has come for himself to consolidate his business and to get back into the saddle so that he can do what he loves most, tuning Falcons. If this means that he will need to concentrate more on day to day ops for a while then so be it. He still is very passionate about his Fords and he is still very approachable by his customers. He has been good for Ford and for the industry overall.

If he is also smart enough to have other companies producing products under his name then good luck to him. He still had to come up with the idea design and marketing etc, that is good business. He is doing nothing more than everybody else, and that is to engage part suppliers to produce products under their banner, after all Ford do the very same thing with their parts supply. Did you think that Ford made everything in house?

Talk about "tall poppy" syndrome.

Well pulling out of the forums doesn't help promote their products and services. It also doesn't help support their existing customers.

With forums sponsors, what they get out of the deal is proportionate to what they put in.

Agreed.....Good post

Rob is a TOP BLOKE and his business is honest and professional which is a lot more than you can say for some other "performance" businesses.

Good Luck to him and it is a shame that he is currently no longer a site SPONSOR. Methinks he has enough momentum in his business to keep going anyways..............

well from my seat here he got so much bagging on this forum it wasnt funny. he wasn't the type to bag other peoples products / and didn't engage in arguments and ridecule therefore often took it on the chin.
i'm not surprised he didn't RENEW AT ALL. he wasnt here to be put down by others . he was here with a reputable name, and well noted performance parts and all his parts were ADR COMPLIANT.

No - but he was copping a bit of undeserved flax in some threads. Maybe he'll be back in the future. I hope so.

In the time I have been a member of the forums (a year) I don't recall seeing many posts from Herrod boys. Everyone in their line of work will have some negative things said about them at some stage but packing up and moving on won't stop that.

I have always found them a good resource. They answered my emails quickly and provided me with the right info. I have a few Herrod products on my ute, with some more still to go on. I would like to see them return to the forums asap too, especially when their new web site is up and running.

I dont really think issues relating to Rob Herrod in a personal sense are appropriate to be discussed here. Sponsors will come and go and while it is disappointing to see them leave, it is ultimately their choice.

There is no tall poppy syndrome here bud, i am going by my own personal experience and others in the industry that have delt with Herrods, As for Rob having personal problems well we all have problems some peoples are worse than others, but that doesnt impact on your customers, well you shouldnt let it. Heres 3 things.

1) My XR8 was making a loud whining noise when de-celerating Rob told me to put it into neutral give the thing a couple of big revs and switch it off whilst it was up in the high revs and let it de-celerate whilst switched off, he said it could be the alternator. I did this and it made the most sickining high pitched scream and jumped and rattled, i rang a several other workshops and everybody was shocked that i was told to do that especialy with a DOHC motor, i replaced the Alternator and it still made the same noise it was in the transmission.

2) Whilst talking i asked him about an exhaust system i had already priced Advanced headers and X-Force system full Stainless $2,500 fitted, he was telling me they were crap and i should buy his for $4,500 fitted, the thing is mine ended up making more power and sounds better for alot cheaper as for quality well i have seen them both and i know which ones better.

3) The last part that we discussed during the call was the Vernier Gears, now they are made buy Kostecki Race engines in WA and then Herrods stick there name on it how unusal is that, Rob told me to buy his as theres are better than Kosteckis.

At the time i didnt know any better and i could have spent an extra $2,000 on an Exhaust or bought Vernier Gears from someone that just puts there name on and charges more then knocks the Manufacturer.

Sponsors come and go. Not the place to discuss it. If you want to know why they are no longer a sponsor(Because you will just die if you dont know) feel free to PM Russel or Laminge.

Thanks for closing the thread sourbastard, Rob has made a decision that is his to make, we are thankful for his support since the conception of this site and wish him the best for his future.

As for the threads in his forum, thats is still to be decided.

stroked67, well what can I say, seen plenty of your type in my time, if no workshop has explained that the door is the way out, you wont have issues now on this forum.

Enjoy the solitude of your own misery before creating it for others.
