Ford will then have the opportunity to offer two premium versions of the XR series including an XR6 Turbo based on a heavily-upgraded turbo six and a revitalised XR8 powered by FPV's current Boss 290. The perfect model name for these upgraded XR6 Turbo and XR8 models would be Sprint. An XR6 Turbo Sprint and XR8 Sprint with some bespoke exterior and cabin details? Bring it on!!!
hell yeah!

That's just plain wrong. In the side profile you can really see that short wheelbase hurts the image, and the rear overhang looks proportionally stupid. I hate the rear lights, and the rear end treatment looks too sedan like to be a ute. In fact, I think the whole thing is disproportionate, and I rank it up there with ugly cars like the ssang yong. Some of the commodores I don't mind but this is just pure ugly. I won't comment on the front end though because it is basically BA/BF anyway except for the bodykit. Honestly, it is just a commodore with the rear roof chopped off. Hardly anything special about that.

Actually, apart from the pox tail lights I think the Maloo looks pretty good in those side profile shots. Lets see what the ute looks like in the metal though because it looks a bit odd in all the the pictures I've seen.

The VE SS and SS V is believed to have forced Ford planners to return to the Tickford days when an XR was a little more special.
In my opinion the standard BA XR6 has diluted the exclusivity of the XR range making them blend in, so I think giving them more differentiating styling tweaks is a good idea. But they cant be too high speced otherwise they will cut into the FPV sales (performance not withstanding).

The Red Maloo pics from Carpoint/Carsales is a photchop made AGES ago and isn't even based on the ute. It was photochoped of a E-Series GTS/clubsport. Stupid reporters just trying to fill in some so called news
