G'day all.
For an upcoming project of mine, I am desparately seeking photos of the Ford Mondeo 2L Super Tourers that raced here in the Australian series back in the late 1990s. Peter Hills ran the two car team back then, and they are the Mondeo sedan super tourers. This is the car now, repainted (not my choice but love the car). I am chasing photos of the cars back in the Super Touring days in its beautiful blue and white livery, similar to this livery (but notice this vehicle is a hatchback, so it was a British touring car, same as the one in my avatar). If you come across any blue and yellow photos, it will be of the British championship winning hatchback, and not what I am after, but do enjoy good photos. Any photos or links to them would be so appreciated. If you're unsure on a photo but its a Mondeo, please post it anyway! Thanks in advance. Timmeh |

Far out, I thought images would have been everywhere! I've been looking under sponsors from then and came up with SFA!

I thought I could find them but I have been googling for hours with no results, I don't understand it.
Some of the links you posted you need to be logged in to view, so I couldn't see them sorry. EDIT: I registered and logged in. The second car there is exactly the car I am after, but the image is pretty grainy. Some is better than none though! I am still after any more people can find to get images of the front and rear and hopefully the official livery, as that photo was when the car was run as a privateer. I have uploaded it and included it here if it assists people having a look: Thanks for having a look, it's harder than I thought too. Timmeh Last edited by Timmeh; 30-08-2007 at 10:58 PM. |

Just a post-thought, perhaps the Hills Fords never ran with any official Ford livery, I'm not totally sure. I can't find any info to confirm or deny it so at this stage, it's unconfirmed. Any more photos would be gold though, regardless.
Thank you. Timmeh |

Do searches for Radisich, as he drove them in the BTCC and won the World Touring Car Cup twice driving the original blue and white livery car.

That car was the "Signature Security" entry IIRC - not that it helped me find pics though. I loved that car!

Those are the best looking ELF logo's I've ever seen
Sorry I can't help with pics, but this topic brings back a memory of seeing a Mondeo sedan outside the George IV Inn in Picton once, silver, slammed on 18s, boy did that make an impression. Fantastic looking car...

Thanks Matt - all those Mumbo Racing photos you posted I already have, but I appreciate you posting them. That teams website has lots of good galleries of the current cars but only in their current paint jobs.
Just checking out the other web links you provided. EDIT: Yeah have been to all of those pages, still no photos of the Australian 2L Mondeos though, the blue and white sedans. Only one photo so far! Thanks to everyone thats had a look, any more photos would be great. Thank you. Timmeh |

Hmm, it appears theres not so many of the same model mondeo (as the one above) as i suspected. I have a fair few old race programs from the events when they came up to queensland at lakeside and willowbank, aswell as bathurst 1000 event ones. None seemed to have the cars you described though, even though it has pictures of all the drivers/teams. Was a trip down memory lane looking through them, aswell as seeing the old EA-EL falcon race cars.
Anyway heres what I found, excuse the crappy quality scanner I used.

Thanks mate, the first two shots are very handy indeed. I appreciate you taking the time!
Any more shots would also be handy in case anyone stumbles across any more. Thanks guys, you're awesome. Regards, Timmeh |
