I think someone has bumped my drivers side external mirror while my car was parked. I have put it all together and it looks fine and the electric mirror works OK, but still the plastic bits keep sagging and threatening to falling off.
Does anyone know how it all fits together and if there is some little clip or something that may be missing? Pics attached. Thanks. MK |

I'm pretty sure there is a spring inside and it has probably come undone.

Sorry for digging up an old thread, but I finally got around to fixing my mirror today after months of driving around having to push it back on every now and then.
For anyone who has a similar issue, there is what I think is referred to as a "plastic weld" which holds it all together. There weren't and screws or springs missing. The best way I found to get to it with some strong glue was to fold the mirror in, pull off the plastic panel that forms majority of the rounded part of the mirror cover, do the glueing, wait for it to set, and then put it back together. I did find two spade electrical connectors that didn't seem to have a place in the mirror. The electric adjustment works fine, and I couldn't see anywhere they would connect to if they were for heating the mirrors etc. Too late now. I hope that info is useful to someone one day... MK |
