Default Proud new owner of XR8 Ute

Hi All,

I have recently purchased a second hand BA XR8 Ute. I have been driving around in a 4 cylinder hilux for the last 2 years so i am quite excited. I need to get a towbar fitted. Anyone know where in brisbane would be good to go?
Cheers!

Aranda Towbars in Slacks Creek on Compton Road are cheap, otherwise try your local Ford dealer, depends if you want a standard Ford 1600 kg towbar or a Hitch Receiver type 2300 kg hayman reece, if you want the later go to aranda theyw ill be cheaper.

nope, southside. I also want to toy around with the exhaust although i may have to wait a bit first for some more cash!! What do you all think about removing the last muffler in the system as a temporary "exhaust note fix"?? (I understand it prob wont improve performance but its just the exhaust note im chasing for now).

You could take out the rear muffler for a bit more sound out of the 8.
I did this on my old man BA V8 Ghia, and it has a little bit more sound to it. Surprisingly it doesn't drone at all. But it hasn't made it as loud as you would want if you got a totally new exhaust. At least you can hear the bloody thing now though! With a stock exhaust they sound too quiet (even for a luxury car).
If you take it out, make sure you get another straight pipe run through and welded to continue the exhuast out the back of the car. Wont drone as much, and no chance of the exhaust fumes getting in the car, etc.

just the 1600kg would be fine. Im a tradie and tow a trailer that weighs roughly 600kg and is unbraked so a light duty towbar should be suffice. Any idea what they are worth fitted and wired (rough price, give or take $100).
