To be honest, I reckon the VE Ute looks great. Its a great ad as well.

Ford marketing department have no imagination.

correct. Bandts idea was the concept of the "coupe ute" , and this is what was invented in Australia.Something for light hauling on the farm , but looks good for in the town on Sundays.Ford hasn't made a proper coupe ute since the XH . AU onwards have all been pick ups.
The Holden ad is excellent BTW.

They do have put out some crap, but have also had some decent ones. I always liked this Bathurst 2006 win advertisment, The Fairmont one and also the "must be stuck in third" ad as well as the one where that pole gets an erection over the GT-P and looses it when it sees the HSV (more FPV though). There are more, just cant remember em. I guess, FPV did attempt a morphing type add with the GT, not as good special effects wise as Holdens Click

They used my HQ ute for this ad.

3 days of filming, more than 1500 photographs, for 2.5 seconds.....
