If going sideways whilst doing a burnout ( Drifting ) is classified as a sport who are we to say that doing burnouts in a controlled environment isn't. After all where do you think drifting began? Yes on the streets therfore that in itself is classified as hooning aswell. |

Only one bloke on the list has won 5 world championships. His got my vote.
BTW guys,we've had aussies representing us on two wheels internationally for over 50 years and winning. Hansford and Gardner weren't pioneers in two wheeled classes and aren't in the same class as Mick. It simply amazes me that some of you have listed a top ten without giving him a mention given his achievements. 5 times world champion people and balls the size of a small country! |

Harry Firth really is up there before most of those listed. Apart from his early driving sucesses in Fords, he also developed the XR GT and introduced Peter Brock and Colin Bond into touring cars.

Jack Bradham but a few of the behind the scenes contributors were missed if we were talking top 30:
Jeremy Burgess (Moto GP racing chief engineer to 3 World Champions; Wayne Gardner, Mick Doohan and Valentino Rossi) Phil Irving (engineer of Repco and Vincent motorcycle fame) Barry Green (Green Team racing now Andretti Green racing)

Jack Brabham No 1 Matich, Gardner and Cooper can fight it out for no 2 and Brock can pick up the minor placings after that.

Jack Brabham for mine is number 1 ,and still attends events .
Peter Brock & Allan Moffat really polarised the Ford & Holden debate. Then DJ carried that on with Brock.( although DJ started in a Torana ) Stephen Gall for motorcross.George Tatnell / Garry Rush speedway , Jim Reed -drags , Harry Firth behind HDT , ahead of his time , and Fred Gibson who gave a young Skaife a run . |
