Ok ladies and gentleman, one of the biggest steps in Eurofordclub.com is the introduction of some new software I've been developing, version 0.35, which has turned into version 0.4 with some more radical updates.
This will allow you to keep your photos up to date yourself, along with your details, as has always been the case, we have allowed an increase in photo size, and you can leave us your email address to contact you - which we stress, remains strictly private, and will not be supplied to anyone. ----------------------------------- New website tutorial Above: This is the first page you see, when you click on Members Rides. You can either login if you're an existing member, or register if you are a new one! You can also look through our wide range of members cars. Above: This page allows you to register as a club member. Fill in your details, and send it to us. Make sure you fill in the email address field, so we can send you your login password. Above: By choosing Member Login, you will be taken to this page to fill in your username and password. Your username is your FordForums name, your password is unique to your account. This is not your FordForums password! We don't have access to that information, you will have a password unique to the website. If you want it changed, just ask us and we can do it for you. If you are not sure what your password is, contact Timmeh or fordel on FordForums.com.au Above: Here you can update any of your details, or go on to the next page to update your photos. Be sure to press Update if you have made any changes before proceeding to change any photos. More to come... Last edited by Timmeh; 01-06-2005 at 06:26 PM. |

Above: This page allows you to change your photos. Be aware that you can only have four photos, and one icon. We have listed the maximum size of the photos you are allowed, but the website will automatically resize them if they are too large. If the photos are smaller than the maximum size, they will be uploaded unchanged. Above: Once you have decided which photo you wish to change, click on the appropriate link and you will be taken to this page. Choose the photo from your computer that you wish to replace the current photo with, and then press Upload Picture. Above: This page will tell you how the photo upload went. If there was a problem, it will tell you why. Note that only jpeg photos (photo.jpg) can be uploaded at this point in time. When the photo upload is successful, click Continue. Above: Clicking continue brings you back to this page, where you can then choose to change that photo again, choose another photo to change, or Go Back to the Update my Details page. You can Log Out from the Update My Details page also. ----------------------------------------- I hope that gives everyone a good run down on the new software that we have been developing. Thanks alot to my testers / problem solvers AusXH and Donut King for their patience, and interesting photos. Any feedback is welcome, don't forget if you need your password, contact Chris (fordel) or myself. If you have any suggestions, we have open ears. Regards, Tim |

We've chased down the problems we've had, which related to permissions and also naming conflicts.
All should be working in approximately an hours time. Tim |

Ok, the naming and permissions conflict should be completely cured. If anyone still has any problems, please let me know. Otherwise, all should be running normally now.
Sorry about the problems, always one or two bugs when developing new software. Regards, Tim |

Good to hear.
Next software upgrade will be one to fit 20 inch rims to your car, lowered, big wild bodykit, when you upload a photo! Jokes :togo: If anyone else has any other positive or negative feedback, it's appreciated. Tim |

Ok, on a more serious note, I updated my profile a bit - http://www.eurofordclub.com/php/deta...e%20maddestman - with better photos (although I'm still not happy with them, I should go and get at least one interior shot) and changed a few other things. Just one quick question, is it possible to make it so we have more then 255 characters for the Future Plans? Oh, and I noticed that on one page ( http://www.eurofordclub.com/php/login.php ) the page title is Focus Website, not European Ford Owners Club of Australia like on other pages, just a small thing you could fix pretty quickly.

The way the database is set up, I am not sure that we can change the field to more than 255 characters, but I will work on it. I do know the current format sucks a bit for the Escorts, as there are too many different types to have a drop down for each type ever made. It is under review.
Thanks for the heads up on the page title, you should have seen what half of them were before I thought I had standardised them all. ;) And it's fixed, thanks. Tim |

I thought it might not be possible to change it to more then 255 characters, no big deal really. Yeah, there were a lot of different Escort models, even if it was just reduced to the RS, GL, Ghia, XL etc. it would still be pretty much unmanageable. Perhaps just "Escort (Mk I)" and "Escort (Mk II)" and the other details could be added by the owner in the description (RS2000, GL Rally Pack, 1300xl, etc)?

Yeah that's a good suggestion, noted for the next round of updates.
Thanks! Tim |

Ok, with much more testing, we're 100% sure all the gremlins have been ironed out.
I've added some more features, mainly for us Admin type people. These include the registration process automatically emailing out login details once your account is activated, the addition of an easy way for us to check and change your passwords and email details, and some other functions for when we add or remove members. Finally, the build is complete, so now it's just time to implement feedback from you guys on what you do and don't like about the site. Tim |
