When ever I have to take the car for some work I remove items that might dissapear so never had that prob.
But my daughter was having her car serviced at a Mitsibushi dealer that she had purchased new. I caught them out as I suspected items not being replaced but charged. 1 Air filter 2 sparkplugs. The service guy said when I took the car back for her to complain that it was a oversight my the mechanic working on the car as he had more jobs on that day due to absenteeism of other mechanics. Poor excuse now I service her car on most items. At one panel shop my son worked at, one of the young guys got caught ****ing in a customers car with a porno mag and earned the nickname of tugger. Just goes to show once your car is out of your sight anything can happen to it or in it. buickman |

try to imagine how may backyarders are out there that can fix things but can not diagnose the problem. Mechanics cop it all the time, somebody wants them to do the hard part in pin pointing the problem and then go away and either do it themselves or get a mate to do it for them. |

I will never go back to a ford dealer for a service again. Last service I had rear brakes replaced and brake fluid replaced, injector clean and a transmission service. Now the rear brakes squeal, the car has an occasional rough idle, and the transmission was not shifting properly. Turns out with the transmission service they did not put enough oil in, I got this fixed elsewhere, squealing brakes and rough idle Im not sure. The worst part was they charged me over 1000 for the service.
The dealer was sinclair ford at penrith |

When my parents had their Holden VT Supercharged Calais serviced my wallet with 450 bucks in it was stolen, my dads new mobile and a cd wallet full (of cd's obviously). Dad knew which guy had done it but could not prove it - this guy was fired like a week later anyway. Still made me very angry considering i was like 12-13 at the time...the money was all my birthday present money from different people.
Love this forum btw, glad to be a member - even if i am leanient towards Holden. |

I have a mechanic who I have been going to for some time now, he specialises in Ford's and I haven't had a problem with him, and my car is full of cd's, gold coins in the ashtray and sporting equipment in the back.

I have had no problem with Ford Service; I have a good relationship with the service manger and often talk to him about performance and Fords in general.
. I have however left my car at another workshop and received a phone call that day in the afternoon from my son telling me he just seen my car getting thrashed around the block he could hear it coming down the road under full power. My Son worked around the corner from where I had left the car. Of coarse this was denied when I picked the car up.

After reading this.... im looking at taking pics of my car right before it goes in.... also... gear shifts being stolen?! wtf... that is truely insane... well at my service, the seating room has open windows to the workshop, so you can watch everything they do...
It has happened to my mother a while back, but we didnt know how to approach it so we let it be, but what would happen if you alloys/mags were scratched while at a service?

I think most workshops have those signs that say they take no responsibility for any damage or loss that occurs while they are in possesion of your car...I think its a bit of bullshit...just because there is a sign , they shouldn't be exempt.... While at bridgestone, a mechanic backed a guys car into another car, and from what i could see, it looked like they worked it out and were going to pay for the damage they caused |

I once took my old LTD to a gas fitter just to tune it as I had fitted a new mixer, when I returned to pick it up about 6 hrs later it had 77km more on the clock and it wasn't tuned for shit. They neither denied nor admitted to it, but didn't press to hard when I said I wasn't going to pay for it. They went bankrupt and closed. Karma!

Only problem I have is when you drive your car from the panel beaters to your dealership after getting your bumper resprayed to have them scratch the crap out of it and completely deny it. Which isnt stealing but nonetheless a real let down to someone who takes great pride in their possessions.

My lad works at a ford dealer he is only starting his 2nd year and already my mate who owns a XR8 has repeatedly asked for him to service his XR8 and my son has lost his liscence his farther also requests him for turbo duties. He tells me nothing of incidents as mentioned and wouldn't stand by and say nothing if anything did happen,he's not that type of kid trust me. Once a car was damaged by some tosser on a M/bike while being bought back to the dealer,he didn't have insurance so the dealer paid. A wok shop dude we employed told us they used to borrow cd and cut them while the cars getting fixed, sometimes the customers come back early so they don't get the cd's back. : cheers alvin

I had to take the AU3 ghia down to get the preimium sound head unit replaced under warranty cause it was playing up. They replaced it with a normal one, when I complained I had to wait another week to take it back again to get the premium sound one fitted.
Then when you get there to pick it up, the car is over in the car park with the keys in it. Anyone could walk buy jump in and steal the car. At the last service I asked the ford guy, "besides changing the oil what else are the guys going to do to the car?" reply from the service guy, "thats about all." All future services will be by me.
