Hi All....Times about up for me to get another watch !
Yes, I do have a bit of a collection, but I like em, and its time for another. Has anyone got any suggestions, ideas, recommendations from the following things I am looking for. Automatic / Quartz.. around the $2000 mark. Chrono, , but some of the omega's that are not chrono are good.. Not too thick, as some of the automatic swiss watches are quite thick. Tag, Omega, Longines, , Maybe there is someone here that is a wizard, or works in the industry. thanks in advance Craig ( AC/DC ) |

How about Ollech and Wejs?, Swiss, a little different. I've got an ID377 diver but since looking at the page now I am lusting after the chrono version:
mmmm, Valjoux 7750...... there are a few other chronos here as well: http://www.gnomonwatches.com/Ollech&...ographAll.html I actually bought mine from this guy from Perth: http://rjbimports-exports.com/Menu_menu_1.html Or, if you are a Clive cussler fan you could always go the Doxa: Regards, Tote

have a look here http://clockmaker.com.au/w/wfs1.html I am in no way associated with this business or site. I came across it when researching watches myself. It may be of help to you. He seems to have quality stock. He has a nice Omega Seamaster & TAG Heuer Aquaracer at the moment that might suit you. Me, I love the TAG Monaco (Steve McQueen, LeMans) & Rolex Explorer II.

This might be at the bottom of your range but have you looked at the Kinetic Arctura from Seiko?...I've got this one, cost me $950 and it looks great.
No need for batteries, it'll practically last forever... Cheers

You have 2k to spend on a watch and you have to go to a car forum to ask which one to buy?
You are either.... 1#Thick. 2# Full of recycled hay. 3# Like telling people how much money you can throw around. 4# All of the above.

Thanks so much for your free advice ! Its people like you that taint a "Car Forum". As for the others, thanks for actual advice. I will attempt to answer your 4 intelligent, long thought questions. 1#Thick. - No, Sorry I dont think I would be regarded as thick ? 2# Full of recycled hay. - Nope, sorry again 3# Like telling people how much money you can throw around. I dont have money to throw around, but I think I am doing ok. I can afford to by myself a $200 watch, just the same as some guys spend thousands on gearboxes, turbos, stereos and the like. Unlike you though, I cant be cashed up enough to drive a Fairlane. 4# All of the above. - Sorry, wrong again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ And for those who actually took an interest, I have decided on an Omega 2541.80 Seamaster. Thanks Craig ( Cashed up AC/DC Fan ) |

Money can buy you style. It cannot buy class. We are on an Australian made car forum. I don't really think class is an issue.

For non Automotive Related Chat I'm not sure why GasOLane & tolzero had an issue when this is the forum section heading... Enjoy your Omega AC/DC.

I would look at some Longines or an antique Rolex. I have had my Longines for 5+ years now, very slim(which might not be fashion these days, as chunky bling is "cool"). Mine was top of the range gold and silver. They seem to have gone up in price a fair bit since I bought mine. Anything with gold and silver is likely to hold it value better, mine is quartz, has cost me about $15 in over 5 years to maintain.

I like this one, though it is a little understated:

: 2 grand fo a watch. That's a lot of spondulies to use on telling the time.
I don't wear a watch. I use the one on my mobile, one on the phone at work, on the computer, one in the car and one on the wall. I have had several watches. Last few I have damaged thge glass. Lucky for me these are $50 brands. Yeah I know, I often splurge.

I just bought this Citizen Promaster
http://www.citizenwatches.com.au/pro...ter/JQ4050-53E You can have full display as pictured, or chrono + date, or just chrono. It cost $375.00 but a Tag Huer with similar features was $3500.00, Longines was $800.00 and Victorinox was $2500.00 I also have an Omega Seamaster circa 1971 fully automatic. These were a limited edition

I got this one from SEIKO after (I killed my 6 year old Swatch), except with the Black face and no gold bit's, got it for $400 down from $560 last Christmas, rather happy with that.
I was in the jewellers wearing a bonds singlet, Old Jeans and a pear of double plunger thongs, i don't think they expected to sell me a $400 watch LOL

If you're in Brisbane try HERE
They are located in the Brisbane Arcade on Queen St/Adelaide St and have much more than what is on their website. I have bought many many watches from the owner over the years and his staff are fantastic. |
