Brake reassembly

I've taken off my calipers for painting, and just wanted to know if i need locktite to secure the bolts when putting them back on.

No, just do them up well!

I didn't and haven't had any problems yet ,that doesn't mean it's a good idea not to put new loctite on though.
Seriously brakes are one component you don't want coming loose/falling off so I'd say yes put new loctite on.

There was some yellow residue on the two hardest bolts to get off. According to some of the websites i've read, the 'RED' loctite is the 'high strength' for automotive purposes. According to the site, you need to heat the bolt/loctite to 250C to remove the bolt. If i did put it on, how would i go about heating the bolt up to this temperature?

i use Loctite on my calipers, it takes a bit more muscle to get them undone but have`nt found need for anything more than a strong arm or a bit more leverage, you don`t need to drown the bolts in the stuff though, a couple of drops will do
