Default USA - 1800 Miles, 4 States, 2 Countries !!

Well it was the thanksgiving Holiday here last week so the family and I took a road trip.

California, thru Oregon (Portland), into Washington State (Seattle) and then into Vancouver BC (Canada).

We left at the lovely hour of 4.20am on the Wednesday for the lovely drive thru the mountains into Orgeon..

First place just after the sun rose was a place called Mt Shasta (spelling probably wrong lol)

It was DAMMMM Cold up there

Portland was lovely and I wish I had some photos but the missus wasnt feeling too great and also slept thru most of it lol.... BUT we got to see Mt St Helens which was really really cool...

So Into Seattle we pulled about 7pm that night...the next morning was actually Thanksgiving so we went for a walk around Seattle it was very eeerie as NO ONE was around..and nothing was open..

Best Shop ever if you were after that sort of thing!!

Pikes Place Market...EMPTY

SO we jumped into the car before lunch and Headed for the border...

Crossing the border into Canada was a little easier than I thought it would be...

Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities I have seen so far, its just awesome

First stop was a shop for Beanies and Gloves it was BLOODY COLD!!! we had minus 2 each night and daily tops around 4-7 degrees, but it was so CRISP..

Lots of ICE everywhere

minus 2 is beach weather craig! Drive into alberta in february, it will redefine your concept of cold mate!

The drive from Cali to BC is a great drive, very scenic. When are you going to get us some pics of yosamite? One place I wanted to go but never got to.

Seattle is indeed a nice city. I liked Seattle. Home of Boeing. The Everett plant is a spinout. :hihi:

If there is another city that I would chose to live in out of all the ones around the world I have been to, it would be Vancouver. I loved Grouse Mountain. Did you guys also check out Capilano Bridge?

Here here. Done the factory tour twice. Almost got to crew the new 400ER delivery in late 2002 from Paine field (where boeing is).

Me personally though, I have done 48 states of the 50 (Haven't done Rhode Island nor Alaska), and spent approximately 4 years of my life in the states. All of these states I have done by road, for the very simple fact that a 1 hour interstate flight can add a day to your trip after you factor in transport, security, waiting, baggage, transport etc.
The tucker is woeful but overall, the americans are a great bunch of people. Somewhat parochial at times, but great people nonetheless. For those who haven't been to the USA you must make it your mission to get out of LA as fast as you can, for it is a hole. Me and a mate are so sick of it we are looking at buying a ranch up in Jackson Wyoming for stop overs. Trust me, get out of LA and check out places like Moab in Utah, Banff in Alberta canada, Madison in Wisconsin, etc. These places are the real America, and far less crowded than the major cities.

Here's a photo of a Moraine lake that I took up near Banff 2 years ago.
