Hello all! Ok, so I'm not a member of the car club...yet...but that doesn't mean i'm not a complete Ford nut! If any of you deal with Escorts or have done in the past, or have anything to do with rallying, it's highly probably that you'd know my father (probably as that escort nutter from the Bay with too many cars for his own good).
I know it's a bit late, but I'm desperately chasing a car for my highschool grad, which is at the Brolga Theatre on the 10th of November:. I would have liked to find someone with a Mustang in the Maryborough area but alas the only person I know is a bus driver who restores 'stangs, but I haven't been in contact with him for a year or so and no longer have any of his details or contact information. While it would be totally awesome if someone here knew that guy or even someone else with Mustangs that might be able to help me out, at such short notice I'd be happy with just about anything, so long as it's not a Holden (...that's probably the first time I've ever actually used the "h" word and not a derogatory comment in its place....is that a bad thing?). Regrettably my date is not entirely fussed on my lovely fully restored RS2000 : , hence having to scramble around for something a little more up-beat and to his liking at such short notice. Any help or contacts or whatever would be GREATLY appreciated! Regards, Suicune1000 |

Suicune1000,
Sounds like your date needs to grow some testicles ... ;) good luck with it all, hope someone here can help you out.

first of all welcome to our humble corner of cyber space, it's great to find another local ford nut. as yet we don't have any escorts in the club, although i believe one may soon be finished and ready to make it's debut.
now to the more presing matter of a formal car- we will be meeting tommorow night and will be discussing this as we have had a number of last minute requests this week. if anyone is available i will certainly be letting you know. unfortunatly we don't have any mustangs....yet- but i'll see what i can do.

I would be eternally grateful if you were to look into the matter at the meeting. I'd normally be in Maryborough on a Thursday night myself as I do a sport there, but unfortunately I can't go this week since I've got to be making last-minute arrangements for the formal to make sure that everything (dress, jewellery, etc) is good to go.
I know it's unlikely for anything to be available at this late point in time, but if you can find anything, you're worth AT LEAST your weight in gold! Hope you have a nice time at the meeting PS: And yes, my date really does need to grow some testes, but if I told him that he'd probably go cry in the corner for a week or something ;) |

Thanks for all your help guys! I ended up doing a favour for a customer at work and so he offered to let us go in his car - an absolutely beautiful '58 model Ford. It was a brilliant last-minute turn of events; 1pm on the day of the formal!
So thaks again to those who tried to help out, it was much appreciated. |

ok firstly i'll point you towards this thread http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=20569
it's the best instructions i have found. i use photobucket and its dead easy (it has to be for me to work it). upload your piccies there first, it is also a convenient way to have backup copies too. then just click on the IMG code box under your photo- it'll automatically copy it and then just click on you forum page ie here and right click 'Paste' it'll put up a line of text which will link to your photo

i tried to use the manage attacments method but found it too slow and hard to get photos small enough, but the photobucket system is really easy to do after the first few goes.
if you have several photos to upload at once, use the bulk uploader, so much faster.

A little while ago I was ready to set fire to my car. I was at the local BP and the young lass behind the counter said, "Was that your car I saw on the RACQ truck last weekend?" I mumbled a fear nasty words. She said, "We love that people keep the old cars alive. If it was easy or cheap, everyone would be doing it." I was shut down. Cheers
