Hi All,
We have a 18i KF 1990 laser which has always ran with the temperature dead centre in the gauge. We recently had a bit of a leak from a hose due to a loose jubilee clip and we only noticed this when the temp ran up.I topped it off with water to get haome and forgot about it. Exactly 4 weeks later temp was rising again, had to add more water to get home and the next day I flushed the system and refilled with new coolant. Now we seem to run in the centre of the temp gauge till we go above 80Kph (RPM seems to have no bearing) then it rises to nearer 3/4 to the top of the gauge and fluctuates up and down slightly. Its never got to overheating temps but it is a worry as it always used to remain very still. Any Ideas please? Huey |

Have you checked to see if the Thermo fans are cutting in and out if it is rising in temp at idle to extreme but cools when driving then check the fans

No the fan does cut in and out. The seems to rise whilst on the freeway at 100kph then fluctuates up and down whilst at speed. On coming to idle it seems to cool a little but does not settle as low as it used too. Real confused. Huey |
