Ah yes that was the concept Cougar. I've got a few more pics of that thing.
Too bad they didn't release the Cougar S. Now that still looks HOT today! |

Hmmm the original Cougar concept... Well, it would've wowwed people when it first came out - definitely glad the Cougar evolved into what we love and drive today.
Angelo, yeah the Cougar S was also hawt, and those widebody kits they have in the UK are the next best thing I guess!  Dan

Ah k... but to be honest I've seen a higher majority of performance Cougar's coming out of the UK and Europe than our American counterparts. The widebody kits are pretty cool, not a fan of the Veilside lookalikes etc, and the Cougar S spoiler is definitely a nice look... but then, it's only when you put stupid things on Cougars that you spoil the look anyway!

Looking back at the concept Cougar photo it's really interesting to see how that evolved into the SW model. The headlights were totally changed, the mirror shape, door handles and some of the body shape was retained and refined. The lower grill in the front bumper would come back for the SX model, but the all glass roof would be goooooooooone. The interior also looks like it might be quite different from what was eventually equipped. Dan
