6 stacker faulty

Need a bit of advice off you

Bought a 2 year old B series with premo sound and 6 stack CD player last weekend

The CD wont go into "Load" mode ...You click on the load button...screen says wait, then times out.

Dealer reckons it needs a whole new ICC....he hasn't looked at it yet so how can he come to that conclusion?

Is that right?

Its fully covered by the dealer at no cost to me so it's not as if he's trying to rip me off....It just annoys me that its gonna a while to get the new ICC shipped from Victoria when it may be just a simple matter fix

if car under warranty the dealer has to order the complete icc for you. if not warranty he can just order the cd module, this is the only part that is faulty.

It's under warranty, but the problem was noticed before I purchased it and they said they will rectify it outside the warranty at no cost to me.

I don't mind a new ICC to be honest, but they say it will take over a week to deliver it from their supplier in Victoria to their dealership in Windsor NSW.

I'm not sure who they're buying them off but that turn around time is very slow considering this day and age we have overnight air express couriers

If all they need to do is replace the CD module I can't understand why they're going to the trouble (and expense) of replacing the whole ICC ! seems to be false economy.

being it is a warranty job, there's a strict procedures that all suppliers to Ford has to follow. it is actually more economical to replace the whole ICC then replacing just the cd module where ford dealers charges less time labor to Ford Motor company cause it takes less time then actually replacing cd module. The ICC part cost falls back on the supplier themselves where Ford have nothing to worry about regarding cost wise.

once the vehicle is out of warranty its a different story then
