Default Cougar for Sale on Ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2001-Ford-Cou...QQcmdZViewItem

Just noticed this one on ebay, if anyone wants to get into the Cougar market hahaha...

Not sure if it's the best in Australia, but I think they meant to type one of the best looking... I dunno... it's probably in mint condition... but I know we got some excellent examples on these forums alone! So you'll need more than a set of 18's to be the best! hahahaha!

Anyway, I'm just playin', just thought I'd post it up, cos this is the colour I originally wanted as well...

Dan

Ain't that the truth! I love driving my cat around! Acceleration in a straight line is ok, but flat to the floor around a corner and she sticks like glue!

Yeah, I been watching this one, I spoke to the guy selling, he said its just been relisted and only got to 14,700 last time and just wasnt enough...
I'm a little sus though, have a look at his history, he sold a falcon only a couple of months ago, in that listing he states that he is selling because he just got a Cougar... Why sell it so soon, he says he got a job in Japan and wont need it anymore... I hope he told me the truth, cos I want to bid
Can U guys tell me, he says its a 2000, but didn't the 2000 model have a big cat on the steering wheel, not the little one shown in the pic ?
Cheers

Hey FumDuk, the 1999 and 2000 models had the 'smaller' Cougar cat logo on the steering wheel. Only the 01 models had the larger cat, different steering wheel and interior trim altogether.

There were also the exterior differences.

Basically, the 99-00 models were the SW series, while the 01's were SX's (where the model was upgraded and facelifted).

Good luck with your bidding, have you seen the car for real though? I couldn't imagine buying a car sight unseen myself

Nah, not in person, the car is about 1200K's from me... but I asked the seller a lot of questions through ebay (so I have his answer's all in writing), if he has been deceitful in anyway I wont give him a cent... simple

Oh, and thanks for the info. I saw a Cougar for the 1st time a week or so ago and have obsessed over them ever since... I like the interior in the 01 but like the body better on the 99-00, lol, cant win...
I think I wanna black one anyway... prob wont bid unless it goes cheap, and I dont think it will... I'm going to Melb on monday to check out a black one :sm_headba

Sounds exactly the same as me when I bought mine. I saw one, wanted one, got really obsessed. Started scouring the net for information and buying old brochures and magazine reviews.

I too was torn, I wanted the new interior, and the older body, but then I saw mine for real, and I was hooked. There's a longer story about me and my car, but basically we were meant to be lol!

You might be surprised that the Cougar you're looking at might not go for too much, and black one's don't seem to be too hard to find...

Just looked at the cougar on ebay again, says "It also has a 5 speed close ratio automatic gearbox." Was 5 speed Auto an option?

Hey Rick,

The auto's were 4 speed as I recall. Manual's were 5 speed.
I think it's pretty typical for these car ads to get some of their info wrong or misdirected! I found I knew more about the car than the dealer selling it did when it came to buying mine.

If he doesn't have the decency to answer your simple question don't buy it. Sound harsh but he's lying for a start so let it go.
It'll be a long wait but worth it. The car is to rare to rush into it the pay the price of repairs after if it's a lemon.
Don't worry Rick we'll keep looking for a Cougar with you.
Cheers
Angelo

try 1

try 2

and we're trying again

This guy lied to me soooo many times, and in the end when I pointed out all the different things he said to me, he stopped even replying to my emails. Shame too, I did start to like that green...

Yeh, he's changed a few things to make it sound btr. Firstly you ain't gonna get 4 cyl fuel economy out of the duratec V6. ESPECIALLY the auto! mine sit's on around 11-12.5 depending how my foot is feeling . Like everyone else said, Auto is 4 speed, not 5 XD. Another thing is the Fuel tank. It's actually 60L not 65L as he has said. Perimeter alarm isn't standard. There's only an immobiliser and the horn will go nuts if the door is opened. Smashing a window won't set it off (i think).

ah well, it's his loss of a potential buyer for not doin the right thing. Don't worry too much, i'm sure the right one will pop up soon

Also, check out this link
http://www.redbookasiapacific.com/au...s.php?id=56667

gives ya the details on the car's specs.
