it's blue mate... hahaha but yeah each to their own, in the flesh it looks good, the idea is for it to be bold, makes it easier to tell top from bottom (these planes are quite often above 500ft at that point colour becomes cruicial in identifying the shapes of the aircraft)

nah mate the paint is fine, they run on a blend of nitro methane (this one will run with about 10% nitro), 20% synthetic oil, and 70% methanol...
and yes i do put nitro in my moto from time to time

HELL NO!!! he sprayed it in the other side of the shed (it's in 2 halves) one end closed ala XY and XA, and one open... ala XC.
paint really has come up good, hasn't been buffed or cleared yet!!!! and its just acyrlic automotive spray cans! the only issue we have is with the white, it isn't white enough... but we can't do anything about it now... too much has been done!

mmm yes as said above, when you see it in the flesh it does grow on you and it's for visability reasons.

yeah mate the taping took a while to get right... tomorrow i will take pics of the canopy that he sprayed this arvo (took an hour to mask and then 20mins to paint)

my dad wanted this model to be done free hand (blending) instead of uniform style like our last pattern ship.
by the way this plane will be close to 2m in length and probably 1.9m wingspan. powered by a 1.4ci (OS 140RX) motor making 3.5hp ;)

nah mate he didn't

he doesn't normally use spray cans (only when spraying wheel spats and cowls MAYBE), usually uses the spray gun, but he decided to be a bit different this time.. first time spraying a model with spray cans.
