i would also like to know about this and future days...probably can't make it if it's early in march, but would love to attend a later one sometime and i know we have a few club members with an interest too.

Roadcraft have been giving Cooloola Car Club a very hard time. Rental has gone up by 300% since August 2006. First motokhana was due to be in March, now they have said the earliest we can have the skid pan is June! The club has been having 4 per year for the last 15 years. Unfortunately the current management regard ALL car enthusiasts as hoons.

The following is a Cooloola Car Club Press Release

To All Car Enthusiasts
The Cooloola Car Club wish to invite all car enthusiasts to an open meeting this Sunday to discuss the need for a facility in our region to cater for all car enthusiasts. We envisage a compact multi purpose complex.

There are some very successful community/club built facilities in South East Queensland that we can draw ideas from. Morgan Park at Warwick, Carnell Raceway at Stanthorpe, Millmerran Auto Club track at Millmerran and the Ipswich West Moreton Auto Club track at Ipswich. All these facilities give back to the community a lot more than they take. Our facility would be of great benefit to the local community and draw competitors and spectators from all over SEQ as well as from Central Qld. We don’t want to embark on some grand plan to build a mega million dollar facility to hold a round of the V8 Supercars in Gympie. Our plan is to find suitable land and to raise money to build a facility in small, manageable stages.

The project would eventually cater for all types of motor sport enthusiast’s activities including, but not limited to, drag racing, drifting, burnout competitions, club days, car shows, autocross, sprints, and a meeting ground for all car enthusiasts.

We wish to invite all car enthusiasts to have a say about what they would like to see and to contribute ideas about how we can make it happen.

WHEN & WHERE
Come to our clubhouse at the corner of Rose & Hyne Street (at the netball courts over the road from Hungry Jacks) on Sunday the 17th February at 6pm. There will be a sausage sizzle and drinks. Money raised will go towards our future.
