Default What have you found in your food?

Last week a mate of mine told me that he went for a steak at a resturant that we often go to and his mate had a cockroche run off the plate. He now refuses to go there.Another time I remember my auntie telling me how she bought a chicken at the local shop,as she was eating it she pulled a finger nail from the stuffing.Years ago i also remember reading about somebody finding a kentucky fried rat in their food.Just wondering what other people have found in their food.

plastic in ice cream, rock in a pie, but the worst was Orange and MANGO juice when it should have been just ORANGE JUICE in the carton yeech.

I saw a show on tv once about this.... the worst thing they showed was a mouse that had crawled into a loaf of bread and then cooked and sliced, each slice of bread had a cross section of a mouse yuck...

Half a caterpillar fell out of my sandwich once. I just thought stuff it and kept eating anyway lol.

Speaking of Orange juice, had a bottle with a big lump of hairy white mold floating in it once. And it hadn't reached it's used by date.

I have a pic of the mouse in the loaf of bread on my computer at work. I think somebody posted it on here somewhere and thats where I got it from.

if you are in the Food Manufacturing Industry, you have to wear a hair net, so why dont other food industries like chefs etc?

In Chelsea Heights theres a place (I don't know whether its still there) called Planet Chicken. A guy bought a chicken burger. He took a bite out of it and this yellow substance started to run down his chin.

It was an abscess. :

I got a 30c cone from McDonalds once, and in the middle was a heap of ball bearings and grease. Turns out the machine had shat its self, into my cone.

Also got a peice of blue metal in a single serve Cadbury 'Snack' bar.

During highschool, a friend of mine worked at a chinese takeout place, just taking orders and such, and she apparently got complaints all the time about fingernails and bandaids in their food. I didnt go there for chinese...

My brother inlaw had the same thing happen to him at KFC! He got a burger, and halfway through, he bit into a bloody puss filled abscess. Needless to say, that meal was no longer needed within the vicinity of his stomach. They compensated him with, get this, free KFC for a year.
Dont know about you, but im pretty sure I wouldnt really feel like KFC for a while.

I had a bowl of ice cream once and found a tooth, with a filling in it.

I knew it wasn't mine because I don't have fillings.

Also had plastic from a takeaway container in a salad sandwich at a cafe.

I told them to take it back, and all they did was take the plastic out and hand it back to me.
I refused to pay for it, and they wanted to call the cops!

Found a fly embedded in the middle of a block of Coon cheese once - rang Kraft and they sent someone out to pick it up. Then in the mail we got a cheque for $4.75 (the cost of the cheese) and a cheese cookbook by Peter Russell Clarke......

Found a hair in a meat pie once. As i dont actually eat the meat i found it sitting on the bottom (between the meat and pastry). I took it the headquarters of the company and they were more amazed that i dont eat the meat out of pies. They compensated me with a box of 25 pies. I gave them away and haven had a meat pie since.

One Sunday after a big night, me and a mate decided to go to the local bakery for supplies. Get home, my mate was sitting on her swag eating her pie to realise it had feathers in it (steak pie). So we went back to the bakery and she went off at them while the store was full of customers. They gave us about $20 worth of free food and drinks, went back home to realise the feathers were from her swag. :

last night got some crispy skin duck with asian vegetables form my local vietnamese takeaway. Halfway through it my girl said have a look at this and there was a caterpillar still alive on the choy sum. She wouldn't eat any more so I polished off the rest.

At least i knew the veges were fresh, dunno about the duck though - meeow

Maggots!
Bought a salad plate from the bakery/lunch shop in Bayswater years ago which included slices of chicken meat. When i moved a slice there they were underneath, work colleagues at the time took it back and they offered to replace it!.
No thank-you, a refund would be just fine.

My old work had been sued a couple of times because of thumb tacks in pies. They still hadnt taken the pinboard down after 6 years....
And there was also rat "leavings" in a loaf of bread... that cost a bit...

Four n Twenty should rename their Pies "Gristle n Gravy", with a meat flavour

Sometimes I've discovered some chicken in my KFC pieces- it's usually inbetween the thick layer of crumbed outer, the fat and the bones inside

I couldnt agree with you more mate. The humble Aussie pie has gone to crap.
As for KFC, THEY CAN GO AND GET, well im pretty sure you know the last word. The best way to do chicken is to buy breast pieces from any butcher and crumb them yourself.
