Internode
IInet
TPG

All offer (or soon will) offer naked DSL. No need to give Tel$tra your hard earned anymore for line rental. Run your phone over the VOIP (over the internet), although not recommended for families with high-risk medical probs

Go to whirlpool.net.au.

Another "No" vote for Optus....they used to be great, but now their service (if you can get through) is total krap.

iinet gets great reviews for speed, service and reliability.

YMMV!

Very happy with TPG. ADSL 2+ sitting on 23 MBPS (300m from exchange - sweet)! $50 a month for 18G downloads anytime which we never reach even streaming o/s TV shows.

Engin Voip for voice calls. $9.95 pm for number and 10 cent calls aussie wide and 3.5 cents pm to Europe. All you can eat for $15 though. Great clarity and you get a normal phone number landlines can call on as per normal. Only in Engin areas though.

Still have to suck up the $19.95 for Telstra's home line budget just for the copper line. Don't even have a phone plugged into it though. Might get a fax but.

3 for day to day mobiles, 1 spare Telstra Next G in the glove box for bush calls and net.

I'm a happy Optus customer, only because I connected before the upload-count came in! 21GB for $49, plus a limitless dial-up account for travelling and for my father to use for $4. No DSL because Telstra have stopped them building more ports in the exchange.

i will back you there.
i have used Westnet for my internet for about 5 years and have had my home phone with them for the last year. i have never had the slightest problem with them and found their service exellent. can always get a friendly/ helpfull australian on the phone if i have a quiery.

dont know if the other companies do it or not but if i travel i can take my laptop and use either dial up or broardband connection which ever is available with my standard home broadband account.

i will never deal with testra again if i can get away with it.

Optus seem too have good home packages going atm. I am with Telstra with everything... though ALOT of people dont like them, I have never had any problems with connections or phones for the 4 years Ive been with them.

Another westnet user here for about 5 years, never had a problem and love the fact when you do actually call them an aussie answers the phone.

yep it really is so much better when you ring someone in your own country. DODO rang me for a quote , and the guy could barely speak a word of english. and there was that much static o the phone i just knew he was 1/2 way across the WORLD . after giveing him an explanation about not wanting to switch to DODO, he simply asked so how can i help you today. he didnt understand a word i had just spoken. i wont use a company that uses cheap overseas labour. unless i pay the indian rate for the internet, than i am exploiting india . and that sux , i dont want to be a part of that.
oh and by the way . i am going to have some fun with aapt, cant wait till the service is on the other hand, and they are chasing me up till they get the shytes and disconnect me .

Yeah, I got the same deal, except mine is DSL, No upload limit makes it easy to build up my ratio on torrent sites.

anyone recommend another ISP WHERE I CAN GET home phone . braodband. and perhaps mobile package . i've simply had it with aapt .
haha you think aapt is bad try iinet they have the worst by far they extort thier customers because they are being pimped by telstra but arnt all telcos bad. so yeah do not go with iinet they have more price hikes than any other telcos by far.
