Default 15 commodores vs 1 Falcon

Just having a thought about some of the races i have been to in the past over here in NZ and one stands out like no other.The race was a 6 hour enduro held at pukekohe raceway(where the supercars use to race)which had at least 15 commodores,1 Falcon a few 2 litre entries and other various vehicles.I was thinking at the time 1 Falcon? gee that would be a long shot to beat all those commodores,anyway the race was packed with action and awesome to watch.After 5 hours watching it(sitting at home by the way watching on tv)the Falcon had come to the front and was killing the lap times,so i raced over to the track and made my way to the fence.With 5 laps to go i was pumping my fist in the air everytime the Falcon drove by,and then the chequered flag,what a feeling that was the stuff.I made my way to the awards ceremony where some guys had done a fine job of making a 2 minute banner reading IT ONLY TOOK ONE TO BEAT THE REST.

Hehe that sounds awesome man. What race was that? I thought the 6 hour enduro always gets dominated by the Evos?

I'll keep a lookout for the Sunday arvo' repeats on tele, great to hear you're enjoying NZ.

They use to call it the"liquor king drivesafe 500"it was an annual event,and i think they still have the enduro,but this was the biggie a few years back,the Falcon was driven by Wayne Huxford and Andrew Fawcett(mitre 10 Falcon)

Thats how my blue obsession started.

Thanks to one lonely Paul Radisich in an DJR AU V8Supercar sticking it to the (at that time) unbeatable Holden Racing Team by himself, and eventually winning in stunning style. That moment, when I was around 12 yearsold, bought my love of Motorsport and the Automotive industry together, and there was one common factor

Yeah, when I went to OP last year, it was great to see Lee Holdsworth win that round when all races prior to that in 07 where it was pretty well T8 vs HSVDT. Yes, even though he was in a Holden. Yeah, sure, my Holden mates were paying me out a bit on it, and I just said "Good on him". Far better to watch than the Lowndes/Ingall/Skaife fests I've seen over the last couple of years. Same goes for Will Davision, but I guess he's not really an underdog that much anymore....

You're not talking about the QLD 500 won stuck in the sandtrap, are you? Because I sure remember that!

Just so we have all the facts straight.

Officially starting the event there were;

23 Commodores
5 EVO's
8 WRX's
4 BMW's
2 Mercedes
7 Nissan GTR's
1 Ferrari
2 Lamborghini's
4 Lotus's
1 Buggati Veyron
1 McLaren F1
And of course, the eventual winner;
1 Falcon (which had 4 flat tyres, no fuel, no brakes, no steering and also started from last on grid).

not to mention the plethora of open wheelers and le mans prototypes as well as the fact that the Falcon had to run on corn syrup instead of petrol and had to carry at least a tone of ''performance ballast''

Maybe what the authur ment was that 1 falcon beat the Crap out of 15 comonwhores that were left in the demolishment of the sparton falcon, wow! what happend to the rest of the field, was it the typical race in NZ with plenty of wet stuff for the field to negociate & try to finish a race?

How many cars actually finished the race or did the sparton falcon wpie out them when he was driving to the front, the 300 spartan soilders would be proud of this lone ranger? :

Yeah it was only a 10 minute drive from the track,should have been there from the start.The best thing was when i got to the track the main gate was open and had no ticket people so i just drove straight in.
