Congrats! It's a random selection thing, however just last week I made it ignore cars with no photos posted, so everyone make sure you have photos of your cars on the profiles.

Love the color, does anyone know much about it? Always seemed to me like it was a 75th anniversary color only, never made it to BA etc

lol, yeah cheers for the comments.i "bought" it.lol. the colour is one of the things that made me look twice at it, having never seen the colour b4, i've only ever seen 1 other fairmont ghia in sandstorm and the old guy that owned it was getting new tyres the same day and time as me and they were parked side by side at bob jane.lol.i thought it was funny.

yeah it was a 75th anniversary thing with the colour...funny thing is when i had my car side by side with the other sandstorm ghia my car had all the options bar the sunroof (which i will be putting in one day) and the other ghia had a few things different such as the tow pack, alarm system etc...it was good to see another one though.didnt think it would happen, haha. there were 4 colours in the 75th range.

Nice to see your name in lights ;)

Keep your eye on "Random Selections" over the next few days. Mine's there a few days after COTD.

edit: don't worry about the RS thing. It's a fairly quick turnaround. Mines off already, lol.

Well........ yes. But don't!

I have never seen my car picked as COTD. :(

But I do agree about the sandstorm colour - they certainly stand out. I've seen a few of them around and they always remind me of the military for some reason.

Have you ever seen those navy blue AUs with the white pillars? Are they ex-RAN (navy) cars?

never seen one with white pillars b4, but i'd say there are some out there...the 4 colours are Sand Storm (exclusive to the 75th Anniversary models), Meteorite, Monsoon Blue and Sparkling Burgundy.

I always thought the white-and-blue AUs were painted by a company who bought them initially. Much like the pink magnas (Avon), red-and-white VW beetles (Westpak bank), etc. Could be wrong though.

From memory the navy AUs with teh white pillars and roof were painted by "Skilled Engineering" (or similar company) to make it look like a hard hat on the vehicle.
