Default My New Kings Superlow Springs Dont Seem 'Super' low.

Yeah i got my superlow springs put in on the weekend from a mate, im just curious if the springs will settle after a while and seem abit more low? Because i have heard that they do from someone but if anyone else has had other experience with this?
Because its like not as low as i thought they would be, like halfway between the low's and superlows IMO. I can go over speedhumps fine and it doesnt even scrape.
Thanks guys.

They should drop but I agree with you. I have the same springs and expected a lower drop than what actually occurred.

Maybe SSL's are next on the shopping list ?

I think the whole spring will settle is a wives tale.. Fair enough if you get new saddles/rubbers but the springs are pre tensioned and I've never noticed that they drop over time

Yeah mate its just the slightest bit too high lol...
Haha yeah mate SSL would of been a better option but i didnt want to go too low. But yeah i dont think it will be, may be selling up at the end of the year to a smaller ford. Might be off to uni and dont want to convert to gas and yeah i have 90,000k's and wanted abit of a return from it, il be travelling 250k each way also each weekend home..
But when im 20 hopefully going to purchase a nice ba xr6t!
but yeah maybe about 2-4cm lower would be great lol.
oh well with a few in the back and abit in the boot it should be all good

i should hope that goes lower. my car sits lower than that with lows.

then again, the au1's sat an inch higher than au2's yeah? i dunno.

but im sure springs do settle i believe they do lol

i remember seeing JeffAU1's car, which was lowered on lows at pedders, had same wheels as you too, and my car sat lower as well. my car is on 16's but yeah, i dunno. food for thought maybe?

Yeah my car seemed alot higher than i expected with wheels i put on a month ago, and i thought yeah superlows would be low enough for someone who lives on edge of the country. Yeah i think the car got new shocks before i got it so that may be a small reason...Yeah like its low, but like not superlow lol... Yeah i hope they settle also! But yeah im only looking for about 2cm lower, then it would be nice, but yeah just have to hope the springs settle abit!

Mmm wouldnt suprise me if they were an inch lower...

Yeah i have seen a few AU1's with superlows going around and they are lots lower than mine.. Oh well time will tell

Doesn't look right. When I first went to pick up my car when it was lowered it looked like that and they'd put Lows in, so I made them do it again. This is how is should look with superlows...

Whether or not it's an AU1 or AU2/3 to start with won't make any difference.

Ahh yeah thanks for that mate.
What was actually wrong with it when you thought they put lows in, like did they put it together the wrong way or something?
Yeah mine is like halfway between superlows and lows IMO. The pictures dont really do it much justice..

There wasn't anything wrong with it, per se, but it looked like it wasn't low enough, so I slid underneath and looked at the spring codes and sure enough, they were King Low. I thought they'd put Lows in because they had! The guy had decided for me that Superlows would give to harsh a ride for a Fairmont (?!).

yeah thanks for the info mate!
Where exactly do you find this code from and how can you tell that it is superlows?
Cuz yeah on the box it says SL at the end of the code, which obviously means superlows.
But yeah thanks heaps!

It's the same code that's on the box, just printed onto one of the coils. You should be able to see it on one of the springs, it depends how they're sitting and where it's printed etc etc. There's always a chance the L's slipped into a SL box somewhere along the way. Worth checking anyway, even if it's a long shot.
Don't worry just yet anyway, mine settled an inch or so I reckon, especially after a couple of long drives with plenty of cargo on board.
Cheers.

I've got superlows in mine (second hand) and the front guard sits just about the top of the tyre, rear spring are equivilent of ssl or maybe more.

Heights from the guard to the center of the rim are:
Front - 335 mm
Rear - 360 mm (has settled some more though)

Measure yours and see what you get

Cheers
